Another car vote has arrived in Forza Horizon 5, and man, this one has polarizing opinions. I’m literally talking about full-on garage brawls over Twitter. With the recent clash put forth by the FH account, the main contest of power was seen between the BMW M5 CS and the Lotus Carlton on one hand, and American muscle on the other, placing the Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing and Mustang SVT. And as expected, comments are anarchy.

STEVIO, from the get-go, was basically stating that “70% of the chat was going with top/left for the M5 CS and Vauxhall Carlton.” German engineering just hits differently, apparently! But then players like ColbySteffens say, “As much as I like the M5 CS, Imma go with the CT-4 and SVT for this week’s vote!” So maybe it’s not really a one-way street. There may well be some strong fan support for the Americans too.

Some players, in fact, are even not bothered with the vote. Dawson Paxton is bummed out over servers: “does anybody’s game not work? it says servers are down it makes my game run horrible,” which is always a bummer when you try to vote new cars through but can’t get into the game properly. Tyler Ghost went on: “Fix your turd of a ai. Tired of getting rammed by them everytime i pass them its annoying af and been a problem for the longest,” so some would rather talk about gameplay than content to be developed.

If anything, the M5 CS is now being showered with love. PrimeNay said straight up, “I’m gonna be grabbing that M5 for sure” to which ghostspeed288 reacted with a fire emoji, “Absolutely BMW M5.” Coming in for the reality check, Louis stomboli states: “I have the CS and it isn’t really anything special, it’s quite slow in acceleration.” So maybe not actually? All hype and little actual in-game performance?

The Lotus Carlton had its fair share of votes as well. Navy declared “absolute Lotus Carlton sweep” to which Felix answered back with, “Lotus Carlton 😩.” You know that feeling when a car just hits right?! Chris Qatar GP 2025 mentioned “Got all part from the Carlton so am voting for that,” which really makes sense if you’re trying to complete your collection.

Interesting in their thinking is Myra actually strategizing: “bottom needs to win, they’re both new-to-Forza cars, whereas the Lotus Carlton debuted in Motorsport 2 and still has the same deformed model.” So, if you want fresh content, probably go with the American duo since they haven’t been in Forza before.

Then the usual requests start popping up, because you never miss a chance to shout for more, right? Thrittle, “Horizon 5 reached 50 million players yesterday. Can we please get the MC20 as a thank you gift?” Fair question, really. Joe Scrub asks for a Challenger SRT8, while DeUS_Ex87 wants a Ferrari Daytona SP3. This list shall never die.

DogJr might just have offered the best comment of the day: “Blackwing Terminator is not only an awesome combo but it sounds like a metal band name.” They’re really not wrong here – Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing and Mustang SVT Terminator actually sounds like it could be opening for Metallica or something.

There’s some talk about the backstage passes themselves. Forg210 commented “theres not gonna be any rare cars with this backstage thing,” which basically translates that some don’t like the way the voting system is panning out. Then there’s all the talk of sniping cars from the auction house instead of waiting for votes, with eyntxs telling PrimeNay “Bro just snipe the m5”-because in some cases, the real endgame is the auction house.

How ridiculous is it that only one vote for cars will generate so much discussion? Players are out there analyzing performance stats, talking for collection completion, debating which cars are actually new to the franchise, and, of course, ranting about servers and AI drivers. Passionate is the right word for the Forza community.

Who is going to win? Who knows? The European duo looks to have some early momentum from the comments, but American muscle has its fan base as well. And with both options pretty damn desirable, this could very well be one of the tightest votes we’ve seen. Whichever side wins, players are gonna be happy new rides richer, so in the end, all win. Except for the ones still experiencing server issues, that is: hope it gets fixed soon.

The voting system in Forza Horizon 5 continues to keep things exciting when it comes to live service content. It sparks conversations among players, gives them plenty of things to debate, and most importantly, gets them playing the game to earn backstage passes. Even if some think the rare cars aren’t actually rare, it’s still quite a cool way to have the community choose what’s going into the game. Now, if only they could do something about the AI ramming…
