From a reliable source that was leak-recently, ADAMO, Fortnite gamers are going to able to enter the new cup associated with the Wednesday Addams skin on October 23rd. Netflix’s dark character has at last arrived at the island, and the announcement has sparked intense debate among the community.
To sum it up, the skin cup is a limited-time tournament wherein players battle it out for the chance to get the Wednesday Addams skin early. However, the cup will occur on a Thursday, October 23rd, instead of a Wednesday. And the gamers are NOT at all satisfied with that time.
A player, Ashleigh_Rae77, very articulately captured the notion when she remarked: “So her cup is on a thursday???? Her shop debut better be the 29th (Wednesday) or 31st (Halloween).” A different user, andredelreyy, labeled it “Missed opportunity to release her on Wednesday…” which is actually? Absolutely right. When you introduce Wednesday Addams to Fortnite and you don’t plan it on an actual Wednesday, that’s just… weird.
But, the main dispute that is now developing in replies is nothing but the release date. Oh, no. It is a whole argument regarding… hands. Yes, you read it correctly, HANDS.
MsLucyOfficial triggered it when she asserted: “I wish Fortnite would realize no one likes the aesthetic choice of the giant hands on women.” Fluffysardines then added: “I have to agree I’m sick of the man hands,” which sparked a debate regarding whether Wednesday would also be affected by the same hand issue as some of the female skins in Fortnite. Some players thought they were talking about an actual hand item and got confused, but actually, they were discussing the character model’s hands being oversized.
In contrast, some players are already speculating about possible edit styles. Rudycooper132 asked: “Will there be another style? Like the cat outfit she had on in S1? Or something else if she ever had anything else on besides the Nevermore outfit?” and even proposed the dress she wears to the dance in season 1. But FriedRice871520 quickly rejected that idea with “Do you really think epic games is going to give a skin…edit styles? In 2025? It’s not chapter 1 anymore.” which is a valid concern given the recent behavior of Epic.
The timing of the skin’s arrival in the shop is another highly debated topic. F1elite33 complained that “if the cup isn’t until the 23rd it won’t be in the shop until at least the 26-28th earliest …nice …lol stupid” while Cody speculated that the content creators would have it a day earlier on the 21st “so they can run around with that special feeling for a few days lol.”
There is still some uncertainty whether it is a builds only or zero build cup, with SeanLia4 commenting, “Let me guess, another Builds only Cup? 😒” and other players arguing if the reload cups are easier to play. WilliamAll30802 stated, “The Reload cups are actually surprisingly easy,” which may give some encouragement to non-competitive players.
And then there is the problem of… minor characters? ChrisWantsToBtl was constantly telling people that “This character is a minor bro” when some players were getting a little too excited about the skin. It should be noted, though, that Wednesday is a teenage character in the Netflix series.
Nonetheless, the enthusiasm is undeniable – Kinxtric simply shouted, “FAHHHHHH I NEED IT NOWWW” which perfectly reflects the mood of many Wednesday fans. And traastii wrote in Italian “oddio la tua skin,” meaning “oh my god your skin,” showing the hype across the world.
Moreover, this appears to follow the same pattern as the Jason Vorhees skin cup, and Ashleigh_Rae77 is correct to remark, “A random ass day just like jason…. two of the biggest characters that have meaningful days and they f it up.” Therefore, it seems that Epic has developed a habit of ignoring the most apparent thematic release dates for their horror collaborations.
The main question that everyone is curious about is – when will Wednesday be available in the shop? Following the previous skin cup patterns, she will likely be available in the shop a few days after the tournament, around October 26th-28th. Still, some players are hoping for her to drop on the 29th or Halloween, which would be more suitable from a thematic standpoint.
Regardless, players who enjoy the Addams Family universe in battle royale will have the new skin to look forward to. Just prepare for a Thursday competition for a character named Wednesday and perhaps do not worry about her hands if that will bother you. The Fortnite community is one of the most outspoken and passionate gaming communities, and the Wednesday skin issue shows that players care about everything from release dates to character model details to thematic consistency. It doesn’t matter if you are going to participate in the cup or just waiting for the shop release, the gothic addition to the locker has already made a splash!
The gaming community continues to debate these releases across platforms like PlayStation and Xbox.
