This was supposed to be widely celebrated for the return of the much-awaited Spider-Verse skins tonight. However, instead of making their grand entry, an unusual thing happened-they just…did not show up. Data miners had been nearly sure about their reappearance, but oddly, once the Item Shop refreshed, these guys did not show up on the picture. This is not the first time in which Spider-Man cosmetics gave a ghosting on rotation. What is going on here?
According to ShiinaBR, the trustworthy leaker, these skins were to drop tonight. The Item Shop files all indicated as much. Everything fitted together-and then, poof! They are gone. It is not even just this batch. Players witnessed the same with the No Way Home and Iron Spider skins before. Suspicious, huh?
Some believe that Sony might be the one pulling the strings behind the scenes here. That would be one of the replies by Jeremy Keyes: “Something tells me Sony is behind this. Possibly not renewing so they can’t release any of the Spider-Man cosmetics again.” And I mean it? It would certainly make sense. Licensing deals are a mess, and if Sony holds that right tight, Epic might be left waiting.
But wait for it… This ONLY seems to be happening for the Spider-Verse stuff. Other collabs? No problem! So why pick on Spidey? Some players are joking that Epic might, in fact, be trolling the leakers. “Almost as if Epic is trying to tell you all to stop leaking everything,” speculated CobaltKnight26. Maybe. Or maybe a bigger update is just around the corner and these are just a few related teases.
Meanwhile, the reactions are half-frustrated, half-memes: “‘Spider man no way to find the item shop.'” Fishstickmeme said, and Equinox dropped a ton of crying emojis. But it’s not all gloomy; InfamysVirtue laughed and said: “Thank god ain’t no one was buying them mid ass skins anyways.” Too harsh, but hey, opinions are wild.
While people are begging for these skins, Ash Williams? Sarah Connor? The Terminator? All MIA. BlackAdamShop flatly asked, “What about the T-800?” but no response came back. Looks like Fortnite is playing keep-away with the coolest collabs.
And then WTF else? No official update from Epic so far, but another trusted source, Grok, made it clear: ShiinaBR was reporting leaks based on data, not on guarantees. “Plans from Epic can change,” he said. And yeah, that’s true. But when? That’s the million-V-Buck question.
As of now, players keep refreshing the Item Shop in hopes of a surprise drop. Or maybe, just maybe, Epic is running a bigger bluff behind the scenes-a Spider-Verse event, perhaps? A new collab, could be. But right now, what’s for certain is that when it comes to Spider-Man in Fortnite: expect the unexpected.
And if you were just keeping your fingers crossed for anyone dropping Miles Morales or Spider-Gwen? Might wanna keep those V-Bucks for a while longer. Or go spend them right now and regret it later. Your choice.
