Fortnite gamers are shocked and excited as they are getting a new collectible figure but this time; the figure customer is highly debatable. The most reliable insider, iFireMonkey, has tipped new Youtooz figurines, and it is going to be of the Cuddly Raven Team Leader variant and we can say the reaction has been nothing short of mixed.
For those who are not aware of it, Youtooz is a vinyl figurine maker that is known for portraying popular gamers and internet personalities in a cool and chunky way. They have been collaborating with Fortnite for quite some time now, and players have been able to get little skins of their favorite characters. The latest reveal of the Cuddly Raven Team Leader, however, has stirred up the excitement to confusion up to the max scale.
The very first comment made was not surprising at all; let us just say the reply was quite “energetic” in some spots. The very first users to respond to this news started talking about “the jar” immediately – one of those memes that has invaded the internet and, for their own good, should not be explained really. For instance, Roxyboy145, went so far as to say, “This one’s going in the jar 🔥🔥” and BoloSomolo backed it up with “Straight to the jar” so, I guess that will be that.
On the other side, however, there are some people who are not really happy about the decision taken by the company of initially going with a pastel color scheme for this particular skin variant. FlixxNightmare was even more direct and said, “why is it that fucking color..” later adding “nah its shit. I don’t even care about the skin to begin with but at least give us the one with the bearable color palette 😭💔” which, we can all agree, the bright colors aren’t everybody’s favorite.
The Fortnite community is really divided when it comes to Youtooz skins treatment. Dudu_Joestar shared what most gamers are likelythinking: “Not this fuing bear, why not classic skins instead?” Like seriously, why can’t we get just any of those classic skins instead of this specific variant, there are many classic skins that haven’t even been thought about yet?
Moreover, some other customers are simply confused about the whole scenario. IceKnightK just asked “What is this?” which can be regarded as a very concise expression of the same problem relating to Fortnite collaborations. Also, Mew2150 went on to say they were experiencing this “sudden feeling of impending doom” which may seem overacted but is still…a mood.
There are some players who, on the contrary, recall the times when Funko was allowed to produce Fortnite figures; for instance, yungmacsauce expressed such a thought by saying “I miss when Funko had the license to make the figures” – which questions whether the Youtooz style is just not that much favored by certain collectors.
However, it is even more interesting that in the midst of the chaos some players are already daydreaming about the new arrivals. wreck68058343 is so much into the material and exclaims “Need the cube queen!!!!!!!” whereas, FanaticArtisan is “waiting on renzo…some day…” implying that even though the current announcement may not be everybody’s cup of tea, the demand for Fortnite collectibles is definitely still huge.
And then, there is the whole mystery around possible other collaborations – NatAnime4All put forth the most critical query: “Did the Final Fantasy and Persona collabs get axed or something? I was really looking forward to them and all of a sudden they just went silent in the leaks” which certainly puts a question mark, what is the matter with that? The Fortnite rumor mill still spins around and doesn’t stop.
Overall, this is another example of how Fortnite has managed to cross over even in real life. If you love the cuddly version or think the color palette is a crime against humanity, you will have to agree that Epic Games is excellent at provoking discussions. The association with Youtooz continues and with players already hinting towards their favorite skins for future figures, we can expect a lot more such reveals in the coming months.
Just let this particular Raven Team Leader figure be away from any jars, aight? Seeing things like that happen isn’t really necessary.
