Epic Games just made a huge update for Fortnite, and the highlight of it all is the Moe’s 5 Gun, which is now an official part of the battle royale. You heard it right! The collaboration’s famous weapon from The Simpsons is included in the game now, and it is driving the whole community mad. Besides that, the Deodorant Applicator and Bart’s Cobalt Slingshot are available for the duration of the season. And they are making a big fuss about the donuts and all, which is… well, interesting.
The official tweet from Fortnite showed the players the new items, and the players were quick to express their mixed feelings. The die-hard fans are over the moon, some people are expressing their angry mood because of the glitchy game, and others are just hoping their favorite skins will come back. It’s the usual crazy but entertaining Fortnite drama.
Lets first explore the entire Moe’s 5 Gun business. One player, @DH1786, was a thousand times excited and stated, “moe’s gun is absolutely phenomenal!!!!!! sayonara, shotgun meta. A++” From the perspective, this might actually be a major shift in the weapon balance. Another player, @makkoai, jokingly pointed the deepness of the Simpsons crossover, “Fortnite x Simpsons has gone full Springfield, Can’t wait to get shot by Moe’s 5 Gun mid donut emote” which is both hilarious and terrifying at the same time.
But as usual, there are some players who are not very enthusiastic about it. @KevinMetzger88 referred to it as “Another op weapon for the non-players” which was sort of an insult. Ouch! That must be a hurtful critique. Then again, @pubezinspecter appeared to be one of those players who keep on dying, and while others were not so generous in their hints@cherrychanreal straightforwardly told them “That’s a skill issue” and @LN_RuleYOURface bragged about getting three wins in their first ten games while they had only six wins in four years. It seems that the matchmaking is a bit… tricky this season?
Complaints kept pouring in relentlessly. @Calzone94YT was most politely asking Epic to “fix the aiming, nothing seems to hit this season” and besides that, suggested that switching loot in Blitz mode should be avoided. @monksthemonkey did not like the increased jump, while @ExtendedWings01 proposed a simple but strong solution of “Just dont sprint” which… definitely sounds easier said than done?
Moreover, poor mobile players were also suffering from their problems. @Anyelspt was quite frustrated, saying “Fortnite fix your damn game I can’t even log out of the account on mobile ever since this update it only shows sleep mode” That’s a really serious bug that needs to be fixed right away.
It was the skin requests that had been everywhere as usual. @BabidiLeVrai was begging for one unreleased skin, @Cherri_o1 is doing “Day 11 of asking to bring the Naruto skins back” and @ARTPOPmatica wanted an American Cocker Spaniel sidekick to match their dog Waffle. Well, they obviously did.
Some players were complaining about the new Springfield Peely unlock requirements. @phantasia89 complained that “My weekly quests in creator made islands aren’t counting towards the springfielder peely rewards” while @AxelNono070202 was requesting to Epic “Change the way to unlock the Springfield Peely or let us unlock it through other modes’ weekly challenges.” Obviously, the progression system is a cause of some frustration.
The sidekick system also drew fire. @JinxViPowder69 initiated a rant against “remove the permanent appearance lock in feature from sidekicks and reduce their prices” and even suggested completely boycotting sidekicks. On the other hand, @DavidKent159195 was concerned about the correct breed of the dog, claiming that the “Doberman isn’t big enough. This is a mini pincher 100%.” People, come on.
And then there were the… interesting comments. @AKwabes was screaming “WHEN SPIRIT OF GAMBLING TOKABUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU” and @777hz_fm sent a mysterious “TOKANITE 777TOPBLASTEDITION GWLGWULUUUU” message that I honestly have no clue about. Fortnite players are a different kind of people.
@kristopf1 was asking in Spanish about the “funky defensa personal” dance which translates to “funky self-defense” dance? I think? The Fortnite community gets what it wants eventually.
All this commotion indicates that Fortnite is still one of the most lively and ever-evolving games. The addition of Moe’s 5 Gun and the reappearance of the other Simpsons weapons are still two-crossovers that Fortnite is known for. The game is available on PlayStation and Xbox platforms.
