It’s been said that Halloween 2025 is more than a year away, while Epic Games are well ahead to consider another massive update for the Fortnitemares event in Fortnite. By legendary, I do mean legendary. Some major leaking from our ever-trustworthy source, ShiinaBR, just dropped another list: at least 11 skins that are pretty certainly confirmed and really, really funky combinations of horror icons and… just hang tight.

To go over the list, Ghostface from Scream. Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th. Four or five Scooby Doo skins, which is hilariously awesome. Then there’s R.E.P.O., Mothman, The Butcher Pig, a remix of Grim Hound, and an Eternal Peely variant. And if this isn’t bonkers enough, Shiina claimed there was a “high probability” of even MORE skins above that. Poor V-Bucks must be sobbing. This is indeed the ultimate mega crossover in which the two biggest slashers are for the first time together in one game. And Scooby-Doo? It’s all a bunch of shenanigans. Nostalgic fun is breaking my heart right now. Hard to say how an in-game event will look; maybe a Mystery Island where you will unmask the killer who is probably just going to be Old Man Jenkins every time.

The reaction from players across the Internet has been recognizably insane. A player going by @theIADI shouted, “JASON VOORHEES FINALLY RELEASING IN FORTNITE,” and, man, what a sentiment to agree with. Everyone was hyped for all the big-name skins. @LexxLegion_ stated, “So excited for ghostface and scooby doo,” which sort of was the chorus of excitement flying around–scare-me-silly.

But then, as always, questions cropped up. @Bullseye_999 asked for clearer details on Ghostface, wondering if it was full confirmation or just heat from a previous mythic weapon leak. Good point, sometimes these leaks tend to get a little hazy. But then again, Shiina is almost always spot-on, which just pumps everything up. Then there are the wishes; many players are just hoping that their favorite character will make the cut. @Hawkford811 hopes for Pyramid Head from Silent Hill, which would be sick. @jack_role88743 moaned a little, “No FNAF 😭,” so the Five Nights at Freddy’s community is still hopeful. @TheCobraKaiHaw1 is praying for Demon Slayer skins-a big anime snag. Then there was @mugsmunny pondering if this “skeleton crew” would be included alongside an image of some skeleton characters. Creative expressions for days.

The big talk is about Scooby-Doo. Would the dog himself be a skin? Or back bling? Or a pet? Player @Elias16000781 speculated that “I can see scooby doo as a companion so far.” Then @DayvionCro9739 also concurred, in saying that companions are coming this October and Scooby is “most definitely gonna be a companion.” Yep, makes sense-all in together scooting around the island with Scooby, a legendary one.

There is some mystery around Eternal Peely, as well. @KhalidTurner3 straight out asked, “What does Eternal Peely look like?” The million-dollar question. Is he some kind of ghost Peely? Or an Eternal Peely skeleton? Is he wrapped in mummy bandages? We are clueless, but the name is already driving everyone nuts. Peely has been through so many variants that he’s actually probably the Fortnite mascot by now.

And then there are those already lamenting their wallets. @DerFrosch13 came back with, “This is sooo much money im gonna spend on this fortnitemares😭.” Hell yeah, I feel you. More than 11 skins? That’s a serious blow to the bank. You know how to get us there, Epic Games.

Some players are asking for returning favorites, too. @AirDrop_480 said they hope Epic also brings back iconic Fortnitemares skins like Dante and Spooky Team Leader. Nice to always mix in the new hype with some returning classics for those that missed out on them the first time.

The leak also mentions R.E.P.O., an original skin for Fortnite, and Mothman, a pretty deep-cut cryptid legend. It is a great combo of studio license collabs and original ideas, which is what Fortnite strives to maintain. The Butcher Pig and Grim Hound remix contribute to that original angle.

Wait, what was I saying? Oh right, sheer volume. At least eleven skins. That’s a lot. And the possibility of more? Almost overwhelming. This sounds like it’s shaping up to be the biggest Fortnitemares ever, and that’s saying something, considering it goes big every single Halloween.

They have certainly not been playing around for 2025. They are pulling out all the stops, bringing in some of the most recognizable faces in horror history and mixing them with beloved cartoons and their own weird creations. Next fall, the island is going to be a very weird and spooky place. Players will have a blast with these cosmetics, mixing and matching for some crazy combos. Just picture a squad of Ghostface, Jason, Velma, and Mothman. Now that’s a team. So yeah, go ahead, start saving those V-Bucks right now because 2025 Halloween is trending to be an all-time event for Fortnite.
