“Guys and gals, I am sorry to announce to you that the Fortnite Festival featuring Gorillaz is ending in less than a day, as told by ShiinaBR, and the player’s reaction… let’s put it that the player’s reaction was lukewarm, to say the least. Certainly, someone must have requested an opinion that would go the opposite way as the game mode-based band will soon exist no more, and tell you what? There are going to be many who are going to miss, since, in the first place, they did not ever see the band the animated band.
Moreover, one particular player even went as far as saying “man i like gorillaz but who else forgot these mfs was even in fortnite 😭” now isn’t that a bit harsh if you think about it. There was much publicity about a big virtual concert and sadly it was not through their own fault that the event just did not live up to the high expectations of its organizers. Was it the wrong place and the wrong time for a cooperation that nobody expected?
An overwhelming majority of participants say that the entire situation was a waste of time. Many unique items were regarded as “wasted potential” and “possibly the worst season of fortnite festival” even from people who declared their love for Gorillaz. One of the players noted “At the beginning, people who said this was cut off sort of went overboard, but damn, they really should have done something in the middle. Maybe a variant of the skins with the old designs, some jam tracks, I don’t know dude, anything…” They had the license but didn’t really DO much with it? Strange.
Despite complaints, there is a humorous side to it – some of them called the season “Daft Punk’s season” rather than Gorillaz. A moody commentator noted “To be honest, this fest-music season should have been Daft Punk because that’s what it actually felt like all the time.” Another one said “Fr it was daft punks season if anything they got shafted” that’s… pretty intriguing for Daft Punk was not even the featured artist. What was I talking about? Oh, right, the whole identity crisis of this season.
Notwithstanding, there were people who did not feel the same way as the first. A few referred to it as “the shortest and best of the most” and “One of the best Fortnite Festivals!!! ❤️🔥” thus the game still had its fair share of fun for those who enjoyed the release. But the most prevailing thought is that of an empty spot that Epic has lingering to fill up with Gorillaz theme and music even more, and so on.
The stage is set to the question of “Who will be the next Fortnite festival icon artist for this season?” and the names thrown in the hat are Doja Cat or “fortnite original” still. However, rumor has it that there will be Motionless in White and PPAP songs as well in the battle pass – a very interesting choice. PPAP in Fortnite? Really? That Pen-Pineapple-Apple-Pen song? That’s still a thing?
