With the brief release of a Fortnite teaser featuring Genos and the date 8.27.25, Fortnite players have started to lose it. The teaser, which featured Genos and a link to the Epic Store, did not say that Fortnite was releasing a new skin. However, the negative responses show that is exactly the case.

Genos is a famous cyborg from the viral anime One Punch Man and is considerably the newest machine transformation after becoming the main character Saitama’s disciple. He is hitting Fortnite, which is pretty awesome. The date states August 27th, 2025, which feels forever away but at least we have a tentative date.

Leaving that aside, the reason the skin reveal is not the real story is because of what Fortnite players are saying in the comments. The negative feedback began with anime characters people wanted Fortnite to add. NocturnaCurse said, “Can’t wait to get Genos! And I hope they add Garou in the future :)” which is perfectly okay because Garou would be a nice addition. Then comes the Goku situation. A user named GHZ33_BEAT is extremely disappointed with the Goku skin. “Give us a rework on Goku, it look so bad compared to the other Dragon Ball skins and collaborations and is the most famous anime worldwide..i still can’t get how you managed to get an OK for his model from Toei and Akira..low shoulders and his face looks grumpy after transforming.” is what they said, expressing some specific critique, for sure.

Not to mention the other odd requests. On FrogForFortnite’s 416th day asking for My Hero Academia’s Tsuyu Asui, it is evident they have remarkable dedication. Alongside, someone is begging for Snake Eyes? The replies seem to be an odd mixture of enthusiasm and requests.

On the flip side, a portion of the community is unhappy. Certain people are already worrying about the costs to come. Writing in all caps, Jose Daniel Fenix posted “POR FAVOR SEÑOR FORTNITE, MI BILLETERA NO ESTA SOPORTANDO,” which translates to “PLEASE MR. FORTNITE, MY WALLET IS NOT HOLDING UP,” and is very relatable. In addition, a user named Rave the Ravenous, complaining about locker space, cited “These skins will fill up my 200 slots, gonna have to start using the other locker function I avoid.” So yeah, there are qualifiers to the perks you get.

Back to the main topic, the Genos skin, aside from the myriad of requests, is also the confusion regarding the name. There is this one person named Dave who assumed it might have something to do with the character Geno from the Fortnite lore that Jonesy and The Foundation are searching for. That is a pretty interesting theory. Possibly Epic is playing with names here.

Naturally, people don’t focus on anything positive and criticize the game’s existing mechanics. A person named Easydad wants a setting to toggle the old and new movement/pickaxe because of the “new” Fortnite movement. Beninterista calls the RSO Rifle the “worst assault rifle EVER” and demands the holo sight’s return. Pretty “Fortnite” things to say.

The take that stands out the most might be around Save The World. Insomnia Gaming/The Hat Man questioned whether Epic will ever wrap the Save the World main story, given that the metaverse initiative is going in full tilt. Which, by the way, what about Save The World? That mode still exists, right?

While everybody is certain Genos is heading to Fortnite, other topics are fueling their conversations. Players keep wanting better anime collaborations, fixes for worn-out skins, story content, as well as worry about overspending, which is a lot to handle.

Then, of course, there is the date, August 27, 2025. Since it is more than a year away, there is ample time for arguing and accumulating demands. Hopefully, by then, we’ll have Garou, Tsuyu, and a better Goku model. We’ll see. Fortnite keeps adding all the crossovers, and players keep indulging even while whining about locker space and wallet drain. Seriously, it’s a paradox in the battle royale world.

With the confirmation of Genos coming to Fortnite, general discussions seem to revolve around it. Some are excited, some are setting terms, some are wondering about the name, and the rest seem to be preoccupied with thinking of the next bank withdrawal. This is just your typical Fortnite centered day. Personally, I am excited to see which other anime characters are coming. Is Tsuyu finally coming because of the overwhelming requests?
