Mobile Fortnite players, it’s time to feast on a spicy new treat! Burnoff was the name of the skin, cool and flaming. Another free skin, this time with actual lava. That, combined with the exclusives, brings out unbridled excitement, confusion, and downright frustration in the tweet replies.
First and foremost: What is really the Burnoff skin? Looking at it, fiery and edgy seem to be the finest descriptions that the English language can afford-it fits well with the outrageous style of Fortnite. Free? Well, free doesn’t really mean free. Some people can’t actually get it. This skin is gifted only to people logging in on mobile for a limited time, under no circumstances on PC or console. There we go-the hurdles.
The reply section is a mess of those trying to figure out if they qualify. There are some celebrating already-@NukaColaNut927 saying, “Just got it! 😎👍”. And others have been stopped in their tracks, with @Johnlaw_photography unable to locate Fortnite in his app store, and @Albon2001 outright asserting, “Well I can’t mate no Fortnite on phone lad in the EU.” Oof.
On with that whole debate on how this is really an exclusive or if it will eventually drop into the item shop. @LandonMGamer is very salty about this, arguing that Epic keeps releasing “exclusive” skins only to sell them later. “THESE SKINS EPIC, ARE CALLED NOT EXCLUSIVE SKINS!!!!” Still shouting. There he goes again.
From there, the technical troubles must be considered. @Donlyon65 is experiencing difficulties with Xbox Cloud Gaming, and @jazzy_jono has been stuck because they never see Fortnite appear in their app store. Some players offer these solutions: @ecksitt says, “Switch your app store region to download.” But really, what most want is a straightforward tap-n-go solution, not some tourist package.
Does the real kicker mean anybody is basically going through the shame of reinstalling Fortnite just to get this? “Not me reinstalling just for the outfit… again 😅” admits @AzizRao. Me neither, man.
So yeah, mobile players, grab this while you can! Those who are not, well, will probably be out of luck unless Epic decides to release it to the shop later, which with their track record is always a big maybe. Nevertheless, Fortnite communities remain untamed, and nobody actually wants that.
