Epic recently made an announcement for Fortnite’s Champion Surf Witch FNCS Cup with the opportunity for players to snatch the exclusive Champion Surf Witch bundle before it hits the in-game shop. This announcement, made by Fortnite’s official Twitter handle, drew a host of reactions—some positive, some negative.
The bundle was set up as a reward for the Fortnite Global Championship 2025 celebrations, and players can win it through the event staged. Eh, that just isn’t a smooth ride for everybody. Some want to call it sick, some say it’s washed. Classic Fortnite community, though.
@Kassenfn screamed in capital letters, “THIS SKIN HARD ASF,” while @RealGojifan01 shot back, with, “God, this skin is so ass.” The dualistic nature of the gamers, man. In the meantime, @hermesverus thinks it might even outshine the original: “This just might look better than the OG version.”
But hang on—how does the Cup really stand here? Solos? Duos? Trios? Squads? Actually, @AedanB70225 threw out the really important questions, and there’s no answer yet. Knowing Epic, they’ll pretty much announce those details last minute, like they’ve always done.
Then we got a disappointment from @Luckybird77fr who tweeted in French, but let’s translate: “Too bad it’s not time-limited.” Yeah, for some players, exclusivity is a real deal, and knowing this skin might be available in the future somehow already cheapens the flex.
And the sweats are already strategizing. @AedanB70225 predicted: “All the sweats will be using that skin.” No shock—if anything is rare or tournament-related, those tryhards will cling to it.
But other souls just don’t really care for the cushy laid-back competition. @TyBurgerArt outright called this whole thing “miserable,” while @x103p noted,” I’ve never seen a tournament formatted like this.” Hmm, cryptic. Maybe Epic’s switching things up this time?
@HoshiOtakuu threw in more burning questions: “Emoticon reward too or nah?” Because, let’s be real—one third of the reason anybody bothers showing up to these events is the cosmetics.
That said, however, the Champion Surf Witch FNCS Cup is coming. Grind if you want to get the bundle before it hits the shop. If you really don’t want to sweat, simply buy it later.
Either way, things are great at Fortnite these days; though some think that skin looks like somebody just slammed it onto their surfboard.
