As soon as the Champion PJ bundle dropped back in day, talk of it was just abuzz in Fortnite competitive circles. It was put into the Item Shop, and lately, there has been more talk about whether this skin may soon find its way into tournament play; it certainly belongs to the pajama style. It really is just an attractive outfit that bears the sweetest sort of tryhard label one can think of.

With a caption that simply reads, “Your new main for tournaments? 😍,” Fortnite tweeted their love for the bundle. Honestly, they had it right there. Less distracting/minimalist skins leave less room for error in a high-stakes match, after all; coupled with a color scheme that lends itself quite nicely to blending within different environments (something pros keep in mind when selecting their skins in the first place).

And no comments so far. Kind of crazy for a Fortnite drop. Not a single statement seems fit for the competitive scene. Usually, this comment section would light up with hot takes, memes, and arguments about “pay to win” or “fire skin.”

This silence is… suspicious. Maybe they spent all their time getting it, thus too busy to comment. Or perhaps they’re all busy in-game, testing it out in Arena mode right now.

If history is anything to go by, this skin will soon essentially have an honorary place among tournament classics like the Aura and Crystal. These two skins were cheap purchases from the Item Shop that earned their fame in competitive lobbies. It has the same aura for the Champion PJ: invisible, yet striking enough to register without being too obnoxious.

Is it the breakaway skin for Fortnite esports? Too early to tell, but the possibilities are certainly there. Also, the history supports that around the big tournament, there will be a massive sale, and this skin will probably have a lot of pros wearing it. Until then, keep an eye on the cash cups-somebody is going to make this skin seem OP.

In a couple of hours, it should be more lively. The Fortnite community will never stay mum, and once they start weighing in, it will be some spicy opinions.
