Fortnite has recently launched an emote for the Beavis & Butthead skins wherein they headbang to Metallica. Yes, the iconic ’90s cartoon characters have now arrived into the game, and they do bring with them some serious metal vibes.

Leaked by the trustworthy HYPEX, the emote shows both characters going insane along to what certainly looks like a Metallica track. The characters are just chaotic and wild energy with everything they do. Players are already going crazy over it.

One player wrote, “FINALLY MORE METALLICA” as though saying, “Same.” The blend of these two cultural icons is just perfect. Another said, “This one might be a cop,” meaning they are willing to give it some money. I actually agree.

That notwithstanding, some are just not able to accept it as is. Some point out that it’s kind of weird that Butthead doesn’t have his iconic laugh as an emote. Like Paige said, “Kinda sad they didn’t give Butthead a emote of him laughing his laugh is just dumb It would’ve been perfect.” And she’s right. That laugh is iconic!

And then there are others who ask how Beavis can’t have the Metallica logo printed on his shirt with the actual skin design. Like Cayde said, “But Beavis can’t have their name on his shirt.” Which is weird when you think about it-her. Literally using their music for the emote. Copyright issues are just always oh-so messy.

The collaboration itself has seen divided opinions from the community. One player said, “Finally, something redeeming about this collab no one in both CoD and Fortnite asked for,” which is pretty harsh, but honestly? Fair. Not everybody was looking forward to the introduction of Beavis and Butt-Head in the game.

Meanwhile, others were already speculating on what’s next since American Dad might be next,” said Pollo1039, with Yanitha chiming in, “Yes, I think they will add American dad next or during simpsons season maybe?” Really, the crossover possibilities are endless.

Some gamers are simply despondent with it all. Someone asked, “Have you not seen the show?” to somebody who didn’t get the reference. Which, I mean, if you haven’t seen Beavis and Butt-Head, are you really a gamer? Just kidding, but seriously, it’s a classic.

Well, the emote is being sung with praises for just being good. One stated, “Good emote I can’t lie,” and sometimes, that is all you need to hear. It’s those small-scale features that make the Fortnite collabs.

Another gripe arose as, perhaps, younger folks didn’t get the reference. Cory said, “Now where gunna have a bunch of 10 year olds walking around like cornholio and not even know what the show is about.” Which is probably true, but quite amusing to think about.

The whole tie-in with Metallica is pretty cool, especially considering that last year there already was a Metallica concert event in Fortnite. So this is not the first team-up with the band. They’re getting into it now.

Meanwhile, some players will be here waiting for some other collabs. Like some good man said, “I just want Resident Evil man 😭,” capped with a crying emoji, a life of a person whose favorite franchise isn’t yet in the game.

There’s some fight about whether the emote can go with any other skins or if it’s strictly assigned to Beavis and But-Head. Somebody said, “Can it be used with other skins?” Good question, given that in some emotes, character specificity is found.

Price-wise? Someone joked, “1,000,000,000 de paVos 🦃 😮”(1 billion V-bucks), which is one hell of an exaggeration, but Fortnite items and theirs collab stuff can definitely go a bit far in pricing.

But all said and done, the emote’s reception is overwhelmingly positive. People are excited about the metal energy and nostalgia. What we are getting here is another bizarre yet oddly fitting Fortnite collab that no one asked for but will end up loved by many.

“This game just keeps surprising me with these crossovers that somehow work better than they should.” From Family Guy to Metal legends to 90s cartoons, Fortnite’s universe is expanding in the most bizarre fashion.

And for real? That’s where the charm lies. You just can’t really predict what’s the next coming. I’m serious-it could be American Dad; it could be Resident Evil; it could literally be anything at this point. The possibilities are endless, and that in itself is a charm.

So, for all you metal and nostalgia fans, this emote could well be something for you. But prepare for quite a few Beavis and Butthead characters headbanging all over the island. This emote is going to be big.

Wait, what was I saying? Ah, yes- Fortnite collabs are crazy and this one is no exception. The game continues to somehow work as a cultural melting pot of random IPs. I say mostly.
