Epic Games have released the Battle Bus Bundle for Fortnite, and obviously, some players are excited about it, but the backlash that it has developed is quite astonishing. Traditionally, the iconic Battle Bus would drop the players from the skies onto the island as the game begins; now, however, your idea is to customize it as a vehicle in Rocket League-if only most thought so. A few say the entire affair might be a few steps off.
For starters, the bundle is incredibly basic. It merely offered the Battle Bus as a drivable vehicle in Rocket League, with its iconic visual charm. Odd things began to arise when people who had unlocked the Battle Bus for free back in the Llama-Rama event of 2020 started noticing strange things. Some are claiming to not see it inside their inventories despite the fact that many of them say they had earned it before. One of the most vocal players in the replies said, KANNA-CHAN, that they at least had the decals and the tires but not the bus itself. And then it gained some chorus with these same vexations that they had to go the support ticket route just to get what they had already earned.
Then, the little-to-no customization issues zoomed into view. A number of players joined in on the shaming of Epic for not letting them recolor it yellow, including ZeroCatalystTM and jack thorn. I mean, pretty-much-the-Battle-Bus! The original is bright yellow; thus, not making it a color option seems a huge squandered opportunity. One player even jested that it was a “crime” they were unable to make it yellow.
Hold on; it just keeps getting better. Some players are still awaiting that cross-game cosmetics that were promised since forever ago. BryczkowskiPL shouted, “So when will we get our skins from Rocket League in Fortnite? Been a while since you promised that, huh?” And candidly, that is a fair question. Epic has been teasing the Fortnite and Rocket League ties for some time now, yet in truth, little has come to fruition outside of a handful of crossover events.
And then, of course, there’s the pricing drama. The Battle Bus Bundle ain’t free; well, Epic gotta pay the bills somehow. But the real twist is: it was free to some players for a while, through events on Rocket League or promotions for the Epic Games Store. RiverFeatherst2 recalled grabbing it for free and never having to actually play Rocket League. While people like KungFuKenDoll sit out wishing to buy it, saying they’re “1,730 vbucks short” and admit they even missed out because they didn’t know how to claim it correctly.
And what would a Fortnite update be without out-of-left-field demands? Some players demand uncapped FPS on Android (eyeing Link_SSZ), some want Moss Legends skins (a shout to Beantrailmix), and one is just clamoring for “FIX ROCKET LEAGUE DDOSERS” in all caps. Priorities, dude.
All in all, the Battle Bus Bundle, as good as it is, is fine. But on missing items, limited customization, and ongoing Epic promises, the players know that they’re due a lot more. Maybe next time, they could actually paint the bus yellow. Or actually deliver on those cross-game cosmetics they’ve been teasing about for so long.
For now, however, get that V-Bucks and hop in if you really don’t mind a non-yellow Battle Bus. Don’t be surprised if your squad dares you for not having the OG kind.
