Alright, Fortnite players! Buckle up for an encore of the OG Rocket Event, and the hype is absolutely REAL. Epic Games just unleashed the trailer for it, and the event shall be held on July 26 at 2 PM ET. Yes-that’s right!-The OG event where everyone and their mamas just went crazy is finally getting an encore. But maybe it will be a little bit different from the OG.
Let’s check things out. The original Rocket Event is one of Fortnite’s biggest live moments where a massive rocket would launch and crack the skies, inducing insane transformations in-game. Now it’s back-which gives the players something to really mull over. Some think the rocket will finally make good for Tilted Towers (come on, meteor troller, payback time!), whereas others are sure the rocket will hit Moisty Mire, combine Egyptian pyramids, or, let’s say, dinos, from Lonely Lodge. Whacky weaks; whacky theories.
Not everybody is thrilled about this one. Some veterans like Matt from MFTFGames lament, “I’ve seen this already, pass.” The ones who missed it back in those days are thrilled about the opportunity to watch it for the second time. A player said, “I’m OG and couldn’t see it back then, but now I got the door for a second chance 🥹.” Aww, wholesome.
Then, here is the spoiler debate. Some gamers plead to not have spoilers of that event; others are deep into datamining and leaks already. Typical Fortnite community drama. And those memes have to be remembered, like one who joked, “We will be touching ourselves to the rocket event og rerun.” Okay then.
Now, the question at the core is if this event will change the map just like in the original or if the event is merely an occasion for some nostalgia. “If this Rocket event doesn’t shake the map and the fandom, what are we even logging in for?,” somebody said. July 26 is a key date for most players.
Side note, some gamers are still salty about other things; another one is boycotting Fortnite until they fix the starter pack skin. Priorities, man.
So, mark it, set your alarms, and if you want to stay away from all the spoilers, just stay off Twitter all day. This could be the most awesome throwback or the biggest heartbreak ever. And throughout all this, Fortnite has always kept us hooked-which honestly, we’d never have wanted any other way.
See you in the battlefield (or, uh, near the rocket).
