It’s been a long time but today the Fortnite Creative Mode finally allows players to change their vehicles. Epic Games has released the patch, and the community is fully hyped-well, somewhat.

The tweet from the official Fortnite account shocked many, stating: “AFTER A WHOLE YEAR… You can FINALLY change your cars in the creative changing booths again!” Honestly, it is about time. The players would have to endure one default ride for too long, their new creations messing with their heads, forcing them to stare at the same old whips. Freedom, sweet vehicular freedom.

But no one has really shown any hype. The replies section is crickets. Underneath the tweet, not a single reaction. Which is strange, right? Because Fortnite updates, even the smallest ones, are usually treated to a flood of memes, demands for more things, or at least a few responses of “LET’S GOOOO!” But this is just nothing. Zip.

We wonder if possibly the excitement is just too packed since everyone is enjoying the new feature. Or maybe, just maybe-the longwait of one year has kind of allowed the hype to go out. Yeah, the car changes are so-who really cares about that when we want other things?

In any case, this is really great news! Creative Mode is like the silent killer of distraction in-between seasons, keeping players involved, and these little Quality of Life tweaks really count. Thankfully, no more being subjected to that ugly sedan while your friend flaunts a futuristic sports car on their custom map.

But the real question is-why did it take so long? A whole year? Was the car-swapping thing just really difficult or did Epic simply forget? Either way, hopefully, they will think to get it done quicker next time.

So go ahead and get creative today. Whatever. Paint that ride neon pink, throw on some silly stickers, and don’t pretend that you were just stuck with that boring car for a whole year.

Oh, and please, Epic, one of these days, could we not wait a whole year for a feature that’s really pretty basic? And any chances of bringing back the Hoverboard?)
