A pretty nasty shock for some Fortnite players getting into the Web Shop today is that they’re promised Sabrina Carpenter emotes that are apparently entirely missing. Like, for real, ghosted.
The official Fortnite account tweeted about it-just no explanation as to why the new dance moves were snatched away quicker than a default skin at game end.
The silence is deafening from Epic – no, not even a subtle “oops, our bad” tweet; no estimated time for a fix; nothing. Just the cold emptiness of the web shop staring back at players, eager to spend some V-Bucks on that new emote.
And the timing could not have been worse-she is generating the most hype with that new album, and there were fans who wanted to show those moves right in the lobby.
Also, what makes this even crazier is that usually, these guys nail these collabs. Store updates come like clockwork, because new items are released on time like you wouldn’t believe – but today? Glitch city.
Some players speculate (that means speculate + cope, by the way) that rights issues are last-minute; others think the Web Shop just decided to take a day off.
And here comes the drama: not one melty Twitter rant for us to screen record yet. It’s a graveyard in the replies-which is somehow more disturbing than a bunch raging away. Where’s the chaos?
The “fix it or I riot” tweets? The conspiracy theories about why Sabrina’s team pulled the plug?
Epic does a great job with these sorts of things, and we imagine it will get fixed pretty much immediately-probably before anyone finishes reading this sentence-but right now, millions are stuck doing the old Orange Justice like it’s still 2018. THE HORROR.
Refresh your shop every 30 seconds like the rest of us and pray to the Fortnite gods. Or just go listen to “Espresso” again while we wait.
