Now announced for a mega collab by Fortnite, one that no one ever expected to erupt from nowhere- in fact, it should have been anticipated because Epic never stays down for long. The Fortnite x Daft Punk teaser was dropped, and gamers all over have been losing their steam. The picture shows a poster in France with Daft Punk helmets and the words “One More Time”- really only their major hit so far. Now Fortnite gamers all over are speculating what that could mean for the game.
The teaser was shared by @drankVEVO and @hatsunudash and had been reposted by leaker ShiinaBR; shortly thereafter, the reply-section went completely berserk. One player @legaljinn commented, “One More Time in fortnite means so much to me ❤️ The song that started my love for Daft Punk!” which is genuinely heartfelt. But, you know, where there is hype, there’s always drama.
Like this user @LegendaryAtom21 telling us how they “hated gorillaz and other musician I never heard of” and considered Daft Punk “a band that makes trash music,” to which I shall not concur with you. Then poor @nixxbabyy went and called people “new gen” for not knowing Daft Punk, which set off an entire debate about music tastes and generations, something one now expects from Twitter on an average day.
Mostly gamers are excited, while @Ryzotwt simply states “We are awaiting peak” and @KeybladeScar just screams, “FINALLY 😍” which really sums up the whole mood. The teaser poster is indeed in France; therefore, it makes sense with the French duo, as @Julie_Kagemori was replying to another user who asked, “Wait that’s in France ? 😭.” Now, that adds some authenticity to this whole thing. And the One More Time text has set everyone’s assumptions that that song is going to be featured, so definitely safe to bet on it being the most iconic Daft Punk track ever.
Of course, some users are cracking jokes about it: @Eljah_a responded to someone dissing Daft Punk simply with “kanye samples,” which is true because Kanye West did sample their music. Then we have that random Portuguese tweet from @k4on3, “@mavismitadas eu tô chorando,” which means “I’m crying,” so the hype is definitely international.
So, what does that mean for Fortnite, really? Going by how the others went, we might be looking at concert-type events like the Travis Scott or Ariana Grande ones if this follows the pattern of other music collabs. But with da funky Daft Punk now retired, the legacy might mean skins and emotes. Imagine those iconic helmets as cosmetics-that would be dope. Or maybe a music mode where you can jam to their songs, like with Festival mode.
The timing is a little sweet too, with Fortnite Festival featuring Lady Gaga just recently, so music is definitely getting a lot of love from Epic at the moment. Daft Punk would fit into that vibe perfectly with their electronic sound and futuristic aesthetic. Really is a match made in heaven, even if some players don’t know who they are.

All in all, mostly the Fortnite community is excited about this possible collaboration. Daft Punk has been requested by the players for years now, and it looks as if Epic is finally delivering on it. Whether this turns out to be cosmetic-skins only or a full-blown concert event will definitely be one of the coolest crossovers they’ve ever done. Being able to unite players that grew with the sound of Daft Punk and young ones that might be discovering the sound for the very first time through Fortnite is quite heartwarming.
