FromSoftware has flashed yet another Men In Black style enigmas at the Elden Ring community-a scatter of melancholic breadcrumbs-is just driving everyone insane again. There was said to be a poetrical little tweet from the Elden Ring cosmic Twitter sphere regarding the Roundtable Hold. The “lone flicker of hope” now finds itself on “the encroaching night.” Sounds ominous? Sure. Worthy of a hype? Definitely.
The link in the tweet was for pre-orders for the expansion pack Elden Ring: Night Reign, which, aside from the date, gave barely anything else away. Typical of FromSoft, though-they’ll drop any lore they can spare like it’s the last drop of Estus in a boss fight.
The attached picture (which probably holds another fifty secrets just within the pixels) -shows something either quasi-dark sanctuary or hall..; I mean maybe gathering ground for Tarnished that haven’t quite quit the game from rage? Who knows.
What we really know is that Roundtable Hold represents some kind of homage to the supposed invocations of King Arthur and his legendary knights-a quite fitting theme, considering the ongoing Elden Ring obsession with mythic grandeur. A new hub area? Faction HQ? Or just another glitzy scare to lure you before saying farewell to the NPC? Time will tell.
So the link to pre-order is up and if you are a masochist who wants to throw money at FromSoft for it before they actually tell you what you are getting, be my guest. The release date for now is a big fat question mark; but with teasers like this, just about any day now…right?
Now, the really weird thing is no replies whatsoever have appeared under this tweet to this day. Not a single one of the usual lore detectives said HOLY CRAP or WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?? It could either be some major malfunction with Twitter (more likely), or the Elden Ring fandom is so busy going frame by frame on the image that there simply wasn’t any time to type.
Well, in a matter of months past teasers, we expect a whole bunch of theory posts. Who remembers all the hype around the Erdtree being a colossal broccoli? That was epic.
