FromSoftware blew the minds of Elden Ring players, letting out the announcement that Everdark Sovereign Fissure in the Fog is coming on August 7, 2025. The community was split: speculators pushed hype into the stratosphere, and meme-makers made memes about having frostbite in the real world.
The official Elden Ring account gave the winged terror’s arrival a cryptic tease: “From a frozen haze, the winged terror emerges. Let flames rend these frost-laced shadows.” With release times fixed at 03:00 CEST, 18:00 PDT, and 10:00 JST in various regions, this one fiasco can never be missed.
Excited cheers filled the reply section right away. A player by the name of Halflight_AE complimented the dragon design by saying that Caligo is “another dope ass dragon”; meanwhile, iErdtree says in jest, “Everdark Caligo gives you frostbite in real life!!! (I was a playtester, I miss my hands…),” which honestly might seem fitting for a FromSoft boss.
Not everybody was immediately interested. The order of releases was questioned by some, among whom was EileenTheCrow76, who asked: “goated but why not Libra first?” @HobbitLonely then begged the devs, saying, “Do NOT make this another gimmick fight like augur.”
Those damned memes are out in full force. @FactsRealTalk waves his flag at the clash with Battlefield 6’s date, and @AnotherGamer907 mourns because of being spoiled by a friend but still gagged in delight. Let’s not forget @MarisTheFathom’s equally ominous reply in a separate instance: “I will touch you with my jellyfish tentacles.” Those weeping days in the Elden Ring community.
The whole boss fight thing hypes the topic, but speculations about what will happen next are already running wild. @HiatoPdss is wondering: “So next is Caligo and then Libra, what are the chances of us getting Everdark Sovereign Heolstor?” Meanwhile, @DWTD501 is yelling at everybody to get the soundtrack on Spotify yesterday.
FromSoftware is famous for delivering boss fights to remember, and the hype suggests that Everdark Sovereign Fissure in the Fog is going to be no exception. Will Everdark Sovereign Fissure- fateceiverator become a greater memory like Midir or less controversial like Augur? Gamers will be counting all the way down to August 2025.
And if you need any further convincing, listen to @vijayandrewsj: “THIS IS GOING TO BE THE MOST EPIC EVERDARK SOVEREIGN BOSS EXPERIENCE.” So dust off those blades, stock up on warming stones, and go forth to face that frost-laced terror. Or, you know, die a lot. Probably the second option.
