EA Sports threw out this tweet as if it was some huge celebration- “Snowstorms can wait. New PlayStyles in #FC26,” accompanied by a link to the Ultimate Edition. Sounds cool, right? Maybe they’re throwing in some new mechanics to make the gameplay less… well, whatever last year’s was.

But then you go to the replies. Oh, man. These are downright ugly. It’s like opening the floodgates to a blizzard of pure, unfiltered gamer rage. And not the fun kind.

Let’s talk servers first. This is probably the BIG one. Multiple player arrays lamented that the servers are at an all-time garbage level. One user, daybunoo, gave a straightforward opinion: “Servers are dogshit in Arizona, wtf are yall doin”. And they’re not alone. StopBitching7 joined in with “Fix the fucking servers, I have A1 connection and still makes me quit mid-game and I get the DNF!” That’s rough. Paying for a game and then getting penalized because the servers can’t keep up? Not a good look, EA.

Secondly, gameplay. Oh boy. Lee Howieson didn’t hold back: “Count urself lucky that your games crashing coz this game is rotten defending is non existent every game is a cricket score basically fc25 with better passing well done @EASPORTSFC you cracked the code”. So… defending is broken and every match is a goal fest? Let’s get chaotic.

BLAQBOYQ thinks the game has an “I don’t know what kind of passing system this game uses but it sucks. Making the passing quicker is all good but when my players decide to pass the ball to the wrong target that’s very very frustrating. It happens too often”. Everyone has been there at least once: wanting to pass to that open striker but instead your player decides to boot it straight to the opponent. Infuriating.

Then came the graphical complaints. Abstract Deep says that “In FC 26, the Stadium brightness seems a bit low in Some Stadiums” and that “Graphically more can be achieved”. Another user- prcris- wonders in Portuguese why rain only appears during replays and not actual matches. That’s… oddly specific but fair.

Wait, it gets better. Some functionality issues are also among the reducer’s concern. Mike28 says, “Shit game…co-op is not working, we both have the game same platform… can’t even play co-op!!”. TOXbreakers is out on every crash entering Squad Battles. While Paolo Bruno is raging he’s “forced to play modes I don’t like and don’t want to play just to unlock the market”.

The lone positive criticism winds through the full hurricane of criticism: “FUCKING FINALLY YOU COCKED; it’s not best ea fc/fifa ever but it has potential to be finally GJ to the Devs; but the only thing that needs immediete fix is about win given after someone dc’s on draw this one doesnt work but gameplay bruh its the most fun i had since FIFA 17.” So there’s that? I guess?

Another Weirdest Comment Award goes to Abstract Deep for bringing up GTA 6 at the oddest time: “Grand Theft Auto VI will be released soon, and dear friends, the graphic effects will be incredible. That’s why we need to push others to do the same On the Weather Gta 6 will be mind-blowing.” Like… okay? Not sure how that’s relevant but sure.

This much is obvious: while EA tries to generate hype for the new PlayStyles in FC 26, the core base is struggling with fundamental issues that should really have been fixed before launch. Server stability, elementary gameplay mechanics, and even the basics — co-op not working — are things that make or break a sports game.

Those new PlayStyles might be accessible earlier with the Ultimate Edition, but seriously, when the core experience feels this broken, do they really matter? If you ask me, based on the overwhelmingly negative response to this particular tweet, the player base seems to think otherwise. So, should EA go back to the basics before hyping more new stuff? Just thinking out loud.

From different regions and platforms, the complaints seem so consistent. So, it’s not just one thing- it’s servers, gameplay, graphics, and functionality… the whole package seems to be on fire. And mind you, that is from just a reply section of one tweet alone. Imagine what the whole community might be saying.

At the end of the day, sports games live and die by their gameplay and online experience. If those fundamentals aren’t solid, no amount of new PlayStyles or Ultimate Editions is going to save it. Players want a smooth, fair, and fun experience above all else. Right now, it seems like FC 26 might be missing the mark on several of those fronts. Here’s hoping EA is listening to all this feedback and working on some serious patches. Because snowstorms might be able to wait, but frustrated gamers? Not so much.
