The players were thoroughly excited taking the bomb-launched announcement with the news set for ICON Chronicles XL: a new event featuring Zlatan. This bigger-than-life legendary striker is famous for his tall-tales and ridiculous skills-to-be-played in a unique career-spanning mode dropping at the next reset.
The announcement, however, will undoubtedly not win over everyone. The replies to the EA tweet showed a complete cacophony of excitement, outrage, and some genuinely unhinged sentiments. A guy named Hendrik Senduk totally lost it over ‘mechanics,’ alleging that the game has so many issues with passing, tackling, and offside calls, plus a rage compliment emoji. Another player, Bishwajit Gupta, threatened genocide for he had taken no more of the bugs (Yikes!).
Other players wanted to watch Zlatan on the pitch. Balinabe Kevin responded with a sweet “That’s a nice one ❤️” – giving hope that it’s not all doom and gloom. Then there is Murple, who’s better left undocumented especially when departing someone referencing his mom and Zlatan.
The event causes one to go through the most decisive moments of Zlatan’s career, a massive one for the Swedish icon’s fanbase. The timing, however, raised some eyebrows-with Orlando Vitto noting servers were down and joking about just waiting for Black Friday to pull the content down. Jorge9na was already skeptical, debating how long it would take for the highest-rated card for Zlatan to come out, saying if it takes 30 days, it’s “hasta hueva” (in short, “a drag”).
And then there are the usual dramas in the forums for EA FC Mobile with fixes sought on gameplay issues with in-match formation switches and set-piece adjustments. Others such as strafez, question why EA is still dropping new player releases instead of fixing the main experience.
One thing’s for sure: EA sure knows how to stir conversations. For better or for worse, the entrance of Zlatan has stirred up the FC Mobile community. If only the servers could hold so everyone could enjoy the event.
So, who’s grinding for Zlatan, and who’s busy side-eyeing EA’s priorities? The chaos is just beginning either way.
(And nope, we’re not getting into that one guy randomly talking up his blockchain projects in the replies. Some things better just be ignored.)
