No lengthy same-old stories or over-the-top marketing because it’s just raw nostalgia fuel. Old school badges and interiors make long-time football souls feel like they travelled back to their golden days.
But here is the thing: where are replies? Rather strangely that tweet engagement seems to be still silent, which is kind of odd. Usually, all FC Ultimate Team tweet updates pour in reactions-from hyped fans to those disappointed about microtransactions-but none here? These days? Crickets. Perhaps fans were too busy scrambling to log into their accounts to secure any of the sweet new kits before anyone else got them. Or maybe, just maybe, EA actually did something so universally cool even the usual critics have nothing bad to say. Unlikely, but hey, dreaming is free.
What has just happened for an outstanding few who have checked in on this-not a reskin but really retro kits in the full-blown homage to some tinkered legendary football eras-like those early 2000s jerseys, classic colorways, and a couple of those obscure club designs that even the most hardcore football historian might recollect-these kits are pure fantasy for collectors (also grind, or okay, “spend” to have them in Ultimate Team).
Interesting about the timing: FC25 is still green, and retro releases at this time would be considered by EA as that trick-the shady move which will be most successful when tested at the peak of midseason produced-boredom. Definitely smart, but will it be enough to keep away regular Ultimate Team drama-such as the whole Gotham House Olympian Packs, feed-hunger-in-pack odds-every endless grinding? That’s really where it counts.
At the moment, though, it is a score for the win column. An infrequently controversial score within the confines of the FC Ultimate team universe. So if you are a fan of football history-or just love flexing rare gear in-game-go get those Retro kits before they’re all snatched up. Or before EA decides to lock them behind a paywall.
