Fortnite players, gear up because the Dragon Ball skins are back from the shop, to the displeasure of many. The announcement came from a tweet by an influencer-turned-leaker of sorts in the Fortnite community known as ShiinaBR, who claimed that the iconic Dragon Ball skins would return only four days before the much-awaited Dragon Ball event. Worthy of note is that in the description of the tweet, there was a link to purchase the skins, along with a promo code to help support ShiinaBR eroding the goodwill of the community.
The good news can be that if you missed out on Goku, Vegeta, Beerus, or any of the Z-fighters the initial time around, your chance to pick up those skins has come. Currently, they are showcased at a higher price in the Fortnite Item Shop and will remain available for another few days—that is probably nearly two weeks, as a few players say. Two weeks can allow you to grind enough V-Bucks if you do not have enough on you.
Now we are starting to wet palms. Much to the avertive frustration of so many players, only the Wave 1 Dragon Ball skins have toyed back. Which means no Gohan. No Piccolo. No Android 17 and 18. And definitely no Trunks. For some strange reason, Epic continues to bring back that same set of skins over and over again, never to bring the others up from the vault.
MyBoyChungus stated it loud and clear: “I love that Gohan and Piccolo never come back, it’s so awesome that they literally never return but the shitty Wave 1 skins do every month.” Oof. And others like @Maou616 can’t comprehend it either; he tweeted, “Your telling me the androids ain’t back? They the only 2 I’m missing.”
Then there’s the whole debate around whether there are even any new Dragon Ball skins to actually drop at all. Some players keep insisting they want a Daima skin (whatever that may be), while others just do not even care anymore. “No fucking remodel, what’s the point?” asked @AydienF3554.
Then there are the Naruto fans. That’s correct. While Dragon Ball is operating (sort of), the Naruto gang is still waiting on their favorite ninja to resurface. @VictorVanDam explained this perfectly: “If Shueisha is fine bringing back DBS, why not Naruto? Is there a different rights issue?”
One of the nice things about this is that one kid is happy just to have the skins. @QueenEmiTV said, “I really want them to bring back the rest of the Dragon Ball characters because I’m not missing any from this original set.” @Yoshi89648541 said probably the most relatable thing ever, “Fing hell bro why is it when I’m broke?!”
So, what’s the story there? Are Epic Games just lazy about it, or is there licensing nonsense? For better or worse, the Dragon Ball skins are here. Based on how things went last time, they probably will vanish as mysteriously as they showed up.
Until that time, it is time to pull out whatever cash you have to finally get that Goku or Vegeta you’ve been putting off. And nothing more than the same-old, same-old is what you should be expecting on that shop. But hey, fingers crossed that Epic builds some new Dragon Ball content in time for the drop.
Or not. Who the hell knows anymore.
