Stand forth, demon-slaying heroes, for DOOM: The Dark Ages is arriving on the torrential May 15 in what promises to be an insanely magnificent launch into Xbox Series X, showcasing every glorious next-tech bells and whistles one might shout for. 4K? Check. 60 FPS? Obviously. Raytracing? Like your eyeballs deserve. And yeah, this is hitting Xbox Game Pass *day one*, because Microsoft loves watching us lose sleep over that.
Hyped before an Xbox tweet-set ablaze with spec competition showing off just how much the Digital Version can toddle. Quick Resume? Cloud enabled? They do not just throw shade on loading time, but erase it. The trailer (which, let’s be honest, probably melted a few GPUs in rendering) shows off the usual DOOM sha-zam gore, guns, and demon disassembly-with shinier blood splatters because of raytracing.
No replies yet, which is strange-usually, the keyboard warriors of the DOOM fandom dissect pixel counts or complain about the Slayer’s helmet sheen. Perhaps everyone is too busy rewinding the trailer frame by frame. Or, y’know, praying their wallets will survive the inevitable Collector’s Edition leak.
Insane: This is also going to roll along Xbox’s barrage of Game Pass drops in 2024. They are really out here making obsolete the “waiting for a sale” excuse. Wanna bet the physical copy would come with a floppy Disk version as a gag? Classic id Software.
Mark the date: May 15, or don’t because Game Pass will notify you, either way. But rip and tear have just received some next-gen glam. And if you hear whimpering, it’s probably those PC friends who realize they need to mortgage their rigs again.
