Given the release of some half-hearted update by someone at the dev company, fans are starry-eyed about some serious JR version action…Uh, the tweet? Tales of obscurity. The excitement? Certainly none.

Here’s the post that says, “Currently checking Japanese; will be wrapping up end in Japanese today; second checks on Japanese will start tomorrow🎮,” along with what seems like a snippet of in-game text or perhaps a script. Nothing about the title of the game, nothing about the name of the studios, just pure unsalted suspense. Classic.

Meanwhile, there wasn’t any single reply. Nothing. Either the fandoms are busy analyzing that one image from the tweet for any hints, or they are all collectively holding their breath waiting for more info. Common sense tells that one would expect at least one reply of “OMG IS THIS [INSERT GAME NAME HERE]??”, but that isn’t going to happen instead its cricket-chirping. weird flex, but okay.

So, what’s one for? Some surprise localization for an indie gem? Or final polish over an AAA title’s Japanese dub? Or just some casual dev casually showing off his work like it’s nothing? This context-devoid business has me killing over here, but that’s how these teasers roll; it leaves them guessing right?

That right there is what gets the people going: “🎮”. Either straight-up trolling or, like, “yep, this is game related” (obviously). Either way, they already strapped in.

If this becomes, like, the Japanese dub for Elden Ring coming-up Shadow of the Erdtree DLC or even Silksong script that has been lost in the limbos for so long, the world wide web is going to blow up. Till then, however, it is all about refreshing-the-dev-feed like it is 2009, and I am waiting for a leak about Halo 3
