Another new look at the Relocator ability with the upcoming expansion, The Edge of Fate, has been released by Bungie, and, well, the players are not really happy about it. Shown in yet another tweet, it gave the Guardians some closure to their puzzles and Void damage over Kepler, yet the community was anything but silver-tongued. Some are ecstatic; others feel slighted; some are just bewildered.

Bungie describes the Relocator ability as ‘Manipulating technology to their advantage.’ Cool, right? However, the very concept is being dissected by the players. The Guardian Saulo Benigno pointed out that the ability works only on fixed points with no worse explanation: “It should be able to move anywhere.” Another player, Evan Erickson, simply said: “Never slam destination abilities down our throat like this again.” Ouch!

And then, people were discussing bugs. Greyson Willis went to town describing the DLC bugs as “crazy bad,” while Suan Ham having reported crashes on both the PS5 and Xbox Series X; Thompson entered the fray with mentions of audio issues on PS5, “cutting out and all over the place.” “Totally NOT the ride we had anticipated, were we?”

Think again. Players such as J said that they didn’t like the campaign but did enjoy the post-campaign content, and AlexisApollo was outright asking if Bungie would give them a free deluxe edition for their birthday. That’s quite the ask.

The Edge of Fate drops on July 15, 2025, and while not everyone’s jumping for those Relocator abilities yet, it’s giving a vibe like Bungie is trying something new. If it’ll stick or flop, time will tell-there is one thing for sure, though: rest assured that the player feedback from Destiny is raw and loud.
