Bungie has released a teaser for the next expansion of Destiny 2, Renegades, which is to be focused on a weapon named the All or Nothing Pulse Rifle. The new legendary strand pulse rifle will be available for sale on December 2, 2025, and the gaming community is split down the middle over it. One half is very optimistic and looks forward to the new addition to their arsenal, while the other side is doubtful about the future of the game with Bungie.

The weapon was introduced with the tagline “Go all in,” which was included in the official tweet from DestinyTheGame, but the comments reveal a much more complex story. One of the gamers, LukeCB14, was so ecstatic that the outburst was akin to madness, he shouted “LEGENDARY PULSE RIFLE!!!!! LETS GOOOOO!!!!” On the contrary, there were some players who were not that excited and like KeeperOfCheese they were saying “Make it kinetic and I’ll care tbh. We literally just got a strand pulse in EoF.”

One of the main points of concern in the feedback is that players are objecting to yet another pulse rifle of the strand type in a game, where players generally use different elements. A user by the name Salmankhanstan made a humorous comment that said “bungie this is the 7th week in a row you’ve given us a strand pulse rifle,” while haliwyn said “Do you know you have other elements in the game, right?”

The script for the weapon’s reveal indicated that it was going to be quite a challenging time for Destiny 2. Some reactions even imply that players are tired of all the issues related to the game. GODOZZY picked out cheaters as one of the reasons for quitting and spoke about the “limitations of lives or maybe the timers to do anything” and Fury0n was rather harsh and merciless in his criticism of the recent Edge of Fate campaign saying it was “the most boring, dull, formulaic, mindless campaign boss fights in Destiny history.”

Destiny 2 is currently struggling with the last expansion and partly the community’s fault as the playerbase has been complaining a lot. But as always, the negative feedback is not unanimous. The Guardians, who still hold out hopes for the new expansion, like Minerafter1241, say, “I have faith in this expansion,” while others, such as playonshaga, are already considering the All or Nothing as “My most awaited weapon to use!” The unkind comments indicate how much the community is still split over Destiny.

What’s so interesting is that players grant so much power to just one new weapon of legendary rarity. DylanAiPs asked, “So little content we need to make trailers for legendary guns? What are we doing?”- implying that some people see this as a sign of a content drought rather than the other way around.

It’s the PvP community that is the most influenced by the potential of the new weapon in the Crucible and they are already thinking about it. BrunoToAmad8 expressed his excitement and made a prediction “Cant wait to be 2 bursted by this in pvp!” while others were just wondering what the weapon could really do. Kashima97 inquired, “What the hell it does? Heavy burst? And 😭” and deox1de too was asking “What does it do that others don’t” – all those are legitimate questions that have been left unanswered by Bungie’s teaser.

The constant fear regarding monetization is another issue. Raijinmeister said in a straightforward manner “Better you not paywall these weapons,” which is clearly indicative of the fear that new gear might only be accessible through additional purchases. This is part of the wider controversy related to the game’s business model that has been going on for years.

The current revealing at what seems to be a pivotal moment for Destiny 2 is a major factor. Some gamers are complaining about the lack of content while others don’t like what is new and Bulldogs are going to put their bets on Renegades to come up with something big. Whether the All or Nothing pulse rifle is a sign of the same old thing or really new and exciting is hard to tell.

What is certain is that the Destiny community is watching the game maker evening and morning through all the details that are revealed. It does not matter if it is weapon attributes, perk combinations, or new gear interaction with the whole ecosystem, the community scrutinizes everything. Even the contrary opinions either positive or negative indicate that players still have very strong feelings about this game even when they are frustrated with it.

The All or Nothing pulse rifle, during the countdown to December 2025, has become a very potent symbol of the deeper debates on the future of Destiny 2. Will it be a neo-classic that attracts players or just another item in an already saturated market? The answer is, as always, split between PlayStation and Xbox players.
