The latest TWID (This Week In Destiny) post-release by Bungie certainly seems packed with goodies-Rushdown Roulette victors, Iron Banner’s return, and an ever-so-playful jab at us during National Stress Awareness Month, Because really, is there anything else relaxing than grinding god rolls?
First things first: kudos to the Rushdown Roulette winners-those Guardians who made it out from the mayhem of this limited-time mode.
For those who missed it, envision this: right when a shoulder charge seems possible, you’re shoulder charged off the map-wham-far away from the cancellation of your super due to some contrived modifier. Good times.
But what do we put on the headline? Iron Banner returns. No dates or anything (so Bungie), but mark your calendars-or not, since, let’s be honest, you’ll watch Twitter implode when Lord Saladin shows up. Will we go through another ‘capture the zones or perish’ meta? Probably. Will we complain about it? Hell yes.
Then there’s National Stress Awareness Month along with @bungielove, which is pretty ironic since that one thing incites the most cortisol: a Trials match with triple stacks teabagging you with Adept Igneous Hammers. No info on what the campaign’s about, but hey, sign me up if it carries therapy tokens for every lost Gambit match to an invading Eyes of Tomorrow contender.
What is weird is that there are no replies yet to that tweet. Usually, this is how a voice is given in Destiny-like, “Why is Iron Banner still rocking the same armor from 2019?” or “When’s the next Titan nerf?” Maybe it is because everyone is busy stress-grinding for Lightfall prep or in therapy.
What they have in store after this will most probably be more cryptic toward teasers, a surprise patch to break Telesto once again by accident, and the collective sighs of Guardians who have yet again to grind for another 15 resets in farming for a decent Riptide. Stay strong guys, and maybe meditate. Or punch a dreg. Or whatever works!
