Bungie has shared a new and fascinating wanted poster that has already sparked a lot of discussion among the Destiny 2 players. The official Twitter account of Destiny declared a bounty cast on a character named Dredgen Bael along with an unbelievable amount of 7 million Glimmer as a reward and, at the same time, issued a strict warning: ‘Stay far away. Do not engage. Only when there is no other choice.’ The illustration drawn by the community artist valonia_art for the poster has lifted a very funny and chaotic debate about the logistics, the lore, and the usage of virtual money concerning the actions of the Guardians.

Along with the announcement, a new high-value target named Dredgen Bael has been introduced into the Destiny 2 universe with a staggering bounty on his head. The Vanguard declares 7 million Glimmer but warns the Guardians to stay away unless absolutely unavoidable. The reaction of the players’ community is a mix of eagerness, confusion, and the very typical Destiny player skepticism.

The post directly caught the attention of everybody. Gamers were not only talking about the bounty but also about the very cool and deserving artwork of valonia_art, which is really good and deserves a big shoutout. The comments are also nice. One of the first ones to catch something was, of course, Dredgen Bael’s hands. ‘Big Gamer29’ (@fallova) was very fast to make a comment asking: ‘So how’d he get his hand back the drifter shot off lol.’ This is a very captivating question! It is even more intriguing for those who are into lore because it brings back to the time when The Drifter, another shady character, allegedly shot Bael’ hand off. But now in the poster, he has got two functioning hands. Did he go through a hand transplant like Luke Skywalker, as user ‘VintageStyle’ (@cshwrp) speculated? Or was it the artist who merely made that decision? The community is already dividing the opinions.

Then there is the other side of the story which is more practical. User ‘Zaff’ (@zaffy2005) pointed out the inconsistency in the post: ‘”Don’t come near, don’t engage.” Then how the blue hell are they going to collect the bounty, geniuses?’ That is a very good observation. The post reads more like an alert for public safety than the promotion of action on the part of space-faring mercenaries. Maybe the Vanguard is just wanting him reported but not necessarily killed on sight? User ‘s-a-b-0’ (@KeepOurArmsNow) made a point in a different thread that bounties can be in the form of information leading to capture, not just kill orders. So perhaps they want him alive? The enigma is getting deeper.

Nonetheless, what amused the most was the economic discussion. The Glimmer cap agony is a theme the Destiny players know very well. You can only keep a maximum of 250,000 Glimmer at a time (though some comments talked about an old 99,999 cap, thereby revealing how long some veterans have been around). User ‘Whatawaste’ (@Whatawaste6969) has made a calculation: ‘But our credits are limited to 99,999. What do you think my Vanguard is doing with this 99.96% tax rate on the bounty? Maybe Bael was right lmao.’ A reward of 7 million Glimmer is of no worth if you are not able to take it. It is like your boss telling you that you will be getting a billion-dollar bonus in pennies that you cannot keep. Obviously, though, players like ‘kanyewestmember’ (@kanyewestmember) were joking about bartering: ‘Best I can do is 271k.’ And ‘strider’ (@marvinbocks1717) simply called it ‘Peanuts…’ since, in the context of the game’s economy, what can you even buy with that amount if you could hold it? It is a humorous reminder of the sometimes ludicrous in-game systems.

The ideas for getting rid of Bael were… very creative. ‘Jesus Cortez’ (@JesusCortez4) claimed, ‘I’m going to turn him into a gun and steal his robes.’ A classic Destiny move – take a boss out, wear its skin, and bone it as a weapon. User ‘Scott :)’ (@Scottayelmao) was pondering, ‘What gun are we going to make him into? Or just going to merge his lightsaber with ours?’ This resonates with the very essence of Destiny: grabbing everything that is not nailed down. The community is already fantasizing about huge the loot from this guy.

Already some players were not satisfied with the new comical content along with the jokes. User ‘s-a-b-0’ was also one who commented, and the developers at Bungie continue to support the game on platforms like PlayStation and Xbox.
