It is indeed time to keep the diazepam handy for Destiny 2 fans because, after ages, Trials of Osiris are coming back next week. Yup, they are coming back after the feel-like-begin-to-never-end period, and Bungie just dropped that bomb as if it were nothing. Again, we all know the reality.

What gives? Basically, for those of you who have been sweating it out this week because of that Iron Banner (let’s be honest: who wouldn’t be at least a little sweaty?), Bungie tells us, “Hey, take now what you’ve honed into Trials with you.” Because let’s face it, Iron Banner really is a little closer to Trials Feeder-more chaotic than less screaming into the mic.

To all those who have been living under a rock…or avoiding PvP like a bad thing, Trials of Osiris is the ultra-competitive PvP mode in Destiny 2 over the weekends. It is where the best flex their muscles, the rest of us suffer, and somehow we all keep coming back for more. Flawless runs, Adept weapons, that sweet, sweet glow: yes, it is all true.

But that thing is-they did not tell anything the things that may change or have been changed or that will be updated. No new maps have been made; no hints of a loot refresh either. Just Trials is back. Good luck. Old school.

What about the community? Crickets. Seriously, the replies are totally silent. Maybe all are busy grinding raids and bounties to even notice anymore. Or still holding their collective breath to see if Bungie happen to have worked out the matchmaking problem. Spoiler: probably not.

What’s the plan? If you are serious about Trials, now is when to establish your crew, fine-tuning your load-outs, and practice how not to tilt after the first loss. Next weekend is a go, though.

And hey, if you’re one of those not really into the whole “ultra-competitive” thing, there’s no shame in that. Iron Banner will be here for quite a while, and let’s face it, much less stressful-stressful, that is, unless you are solo queuing. Good luck with that one.

Who is down for getting farmed in Trials? Hands up. No? Just me? Cool cool. See you in the Lighthouse. Or, better yet, somewhere along the way getting stomped.

What was it again? Trials. Next weekend. Be there or be square. Or just play PvE. That’s always an option. But we know how that will turn out: everyone is in Trials. We will all be there.
