Bungie just lit the fire right underneath its Destiny 2 players — the very first checkpoint for this week Community Challenges is already CRUSHED. Well, you heard this right, Guardians have been given until April 8 to breach more milestones. Clean up that dusty old loadout; its grinding time for the weekend!

Now, that tweet Bungie sent did not touch much about what these challenges actually were (classic Bungie rear end) but you know it’s going to be some kickass in-game activity. I can only guess that it would include slogging through strikes and some crucible mayhem; knowing these devs, there might be some hidden objectives in there. That link in the tweet? I got to say it leads to something juicy in the fine print of reward or special loot.

Can’t you believe it? Fastest time recorded in the community destroying that first goal. Destiny players when there’s a challenge out? They go harder than a Titan main punching a dreg. No chill whatsoever. And that April 8 deadline means wah’s good sweats already have to be forming LFG groups to op that grind.

The question is: What is been left over there in the final milestone? There have been past FIRE community rewards from Bungie. Remember grinding for that exotic emote? Worth every second. Or when the entire playerbase unlocked bonus loot for the whole bunch? Yep, that’s what we are talking about.

No replies on that tweet at the moment, which is quite strange? Normally the Destiny community comes in HOT with takes. Well, maybe they’re too busy doing stops in the game for once instead of complaining about it on Twitter. Shocking concept, right?

For real though. If you’re a Destiny player sleeping on these community challenges, wake up! These are the events that make the whole game breathe. Watching that global progress bar fill? Hearing Tower NPCs start new dialogue when milestones are hit? That’s pure magic. And free stuff. Can’t complain about that.

So grab your fireteam and track what activities are doubling up this weekend and get to it; that next milestone won’t make itself! And knowing those crazy Destiny players, they’ll probably finish it before Sunday brunch. These people don’t sleep. Bungie!
