One of the prestigious awards at the Photo Mode Awards was rightly given to Days Gone Remastered by Bend Studio for Best Adventure Photo Mode. The studio took to Twitter to thank the gamers. Thank you so much for supporting the game with your breathtaking virtual photography. Honestly, the photo mode of this game is luscious to the eyes.
There was every possible kind of reaction to the tweet by Bend Studio: from cheers to disbelief. Some refused to even believe that this was an actual category of awards, and one of them, at least, was @killer_sandvich-well, fairly. Then some across the other side of the spectrum were celebrating with their hearts and fire emojis, such as @virtuasnapz and @xvoltsy. Even The Photo Mode Awards themselves weighed in with the category win being “thoroughly deserved.”
Now here’s the thing: Days Gone Remastered’s photo mode is not just some slap-dash feature; it is a complete toolset that freezes from those hectic zombie-horde shenanigans, golden-hour bike rides, to hauntingly beautiful landscapes into legit art masterpieces. And the players? Oh, they’re using it hard. The comments were filled with screenshots that seriously deserved to be hung in a gallery rather than dumped into the game.
Upon such a major gaming win, the call for a sequel promptly began. Players, such as @GameInsiderPS and @fxlpslima, did not waste time bringing up Days Gone 2 because, at least, basically anybody who has played the game is hankering for more. Even @SirD7x7 jokingly said, “Good, now let’s make a great photo mode for the sequel,” because, well, a girl can dream.
Some, like @shmidders, simply pointed out the obvious: “No surprises there! The game looks stunning.” And it certainly does, with Days Gone Remastered getting an entire visual upgrade that is beautiful beyond compare. It’s lighting, it’s textures, it’s atmosphere-all a wonderful treat for the virtual photographer.
So what do the people want from Bend Studio next? Well, judging from the replies, the community is holding out hope for a sequel. But for now, they’ve got this shiny new accolade to shelf-away-and a ridiculous amount of player-generated gorgeous moments to prove why it deserved the win.
For die-hard Days Gone fans and people who at least appreciate a good screenshot, it’s a celebration of the creativity photo modes unleash within games. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got to go and boot up Days Gone and try (and likely fail) to capture half the brilliance that’s currently flooding the internet.
Congrats, Bend Studio. Now onto the sequel…just putting it out there.
