The CD Projekt Red official social media account for Cyberpunk 2077 has come out with a new and unexpected teaser. The text ‘Glam up and blend in’ made the players guess which quest was being referred to. The image that was shared along with the text, showing a luxurious and sleek world, immediately reminded and recognized the community of the game, thus, making them go wild. For most people, it was not a question at all, just a memory.
The quest in question is ‘You Know My Name’, a major task from the Phantom Liberty expansion in the very posh club Black Sapphire. The role of the protagonist, V in the quest is to penetrate the party where high-stakes gambling is done and to meet the elusive Songbird. This requires a sharp suit or dress to mingle with the night city’s elite. The feedback from players was very positive and enormous which clearly showed how this fragment of Cyberpunk narrative is indeed one of the most memorable.
What exactly made the quest so special? Let’s take a look at it but to be honest, the answers speak the whole story much better than I could ever do. A gamer, @lnfvm0us, straightforwardly went and labeled it the ‘Best quest in entire game,’ which was also the sentiment of @TheT3chEmperor, who called it ‘the best quest in the game imo…’ That is a massive compliment for a game that is full of thrilling times.
But there was not only the undercover work that was fascinating. The quest is a total package because of its immersive environment. @viinthenl pinpointed the wonderful bonus and he was absolutely correct when he claimed that ‘the lizzy wizzy performance during this is the most unique thing I’ve seen in a quest’. The Lizzy Wizzy, the rock-star, is doing an unsettling glitchy concert and it’s like she’s from the future. It is a truly strange moment of Cyberpunk enchantment that you just can’t miss out on.
Next, there are the characters, whoops! The quest is where many players first met Songbird and what should I say… the feelings were strong. The replies show a lot of people getting emotionally devastated. @starlisas compared it to ‘the night I met the love of my life,’ and @AmazingHellamax posted a picture of Songbird with the words ‘Meeting my wife in flesh (and chrome).’ This sparked a mini-ownership debate in the replies, with @AI_0086766 saying, ‘She’s mine.’ and @metalxJP replying, ‘nice try, she’s mine.’ The passion is real, chooms.
Additionally, the quest introduces Aurore and Aymeric Cassel, thereby kicking off yet another round of characteristically funny replies. @staymadbrolol labeled it as ‘The one with twins,’ and @DIYMaker_Johan crafted an accurate description: ‘Easy! The one in Black Sapphire with Reed. Or kinda without him later, at the casino table with the Cassel twins.’ That scene at the casino where one can stake everything on red was another highlight. @chuu_hardt revealed that he/she ‘ignored Aurore to bet it all on RED.’ The glitz, stress, and chance of winning big—these all converged.
It goes without saying that every single comment was not about the storyline of the quest. The tweet served as a magnet for further requests and also… complaints. Several replies, including those from @animeeagel and @josenvrai, immediately started asking about ‘New Game Plus?’. A feature that gamers have been requesting ever since the game’s launch, and any such cryptic tweet from CDPR will surely draw those inquiries. They are right, one cannot really blame them.
Then, the strange Nintendo Switch 2 saga came in. A couple of users, like @WathitdewRecord and @AragamiJo, brought up the issue of a store listing that mistakenly indicated that Cyberpunk 2077 was available for the yet-to-be-announced Switch 2. @AragamiJo’s narrative suggested that he was somehow ‘left in the dark’ as he could not download it once it was unlisted. A whole drama unfolded in the comments to a quest teaser—only in the Cyberpunk fans.
Additionally, some humor was appreciated. @Fidolorous asked if it was ‘the one that enables the third person mode?’ which is still a demand from the community. At the same time, @prettydepresser had a very vivid and messy description: ‘getting drunk and playing yahtzee with my chrome wife.’ Not exactly according to the quest but let’s be honest? The vibe is perfect. The Black Sapphire mission feels that way—a surreal, high-stakes party where anything can happen.
This Twitter moment of the day was a sort of barometer of the reasons why Cyberpunk, especially on Xbox and PlayStation, remains so popular.
