The tweet that caused all this was an invitation: ‘Next Cyberpunk 2077 quest for you to decode. Dare to step up to the plate?’ and there was also a picture included with three symbols on it: a boxing glove, a clown face, and a bomb. As a community, gamers are usually very fast and sharp; they deciphered the clue in no time at all. The secret was revealed in a matter of minutes, and the replies to the tweet were already packed with the answer that was indeed the opposite of a small surprise. The answer refers to a particular nose with a bomb attached to it and a character called Ozob Bozo. Yes, that’s right!
For anyone who has not been hanging around too long in the shady places of Night City, this is the clue for the ‘Beat on the Brat: Pacifica’ side quest. More specifically, the bonus fight against Ozob who, believe it or not, is a clown with a live grenade instead of a nose. The quest line ‘Beat on the Brat’ consists of a number of street fights that V can engage in for some extra eddies and street cred. However, the Pacifica fight with Ozob is the one that everyone remembers. After all, how can you not remember a guy whose main facial feature is just a pin-pull away from blowing you two up?
Asking the gamers’ reaction was sober and hilarious. User ‘DrwnedGamer98’ had the perfect sum up: ‘Beat on The Brat has an objective where you fight OZOB, a clown with a grenade where his nose should be. One way you can win the fight is by hacking the explosive to detonate quickly.’ So, the puzzle’s answer is literally a hand-to-hand combat with a walking, talking explosive hazard. Only in Cyberpunk, man.
The most entertaining part, though, was to be found in the comment section. Trying to win a boxing match while avoiding the opponent’s most significant feature is an experience that can only be found in Cyberpunk.
Some conversations went completely off-subject, but that’s just the way it goes. One user, ‘SavinTheBees,’ replied to someone with just two words: ‘Be fat.’ When asked what DJ Khaled had to do with it, the answer was a mysterious ‘Homie might hate DJ Khaled.’ I have no clue what that means, but it seems that it has become part of the Ozob saga. Another user, ‘el_rachel_el,’ wondered if it was a ‘Twisted Metal crossover?’ which, given the car combat and the clown, is a pretty clever connection.
And naturally, in the middle of all the chaos, there were the customary pleas from the players. ‘amriettia’ took this as a chance to plead, ‘ADD MORE HAIR OPTIONS PLEASE 😭🙌🏼.’ A thread on Cyberpunk is never complete without someone asking for more character customization. By now, it has pretty much become an internet law.
What is amazing, however, is the way CDPR maintains its communication with the community. They do not just release a trailer and disappear. They create these tiny visual riddles that everyone gets to talk about, sharing their own stories and even the most absurd Night City experiences. It is a way that keeps the game in the players’ minds for a long time, even after the main story credits have rolled. It brings back the sheer, pure strangeness of the world of Cyberpunk 2077 that attracts so many players. Where else can you find a side quest that is nothing less than a moral dilemma of whether or not to punch a living explosive device in the face?
The ‘Beat on the Brat’ quests are already very much liked by the players due to the involvement, fantastic brutality, and interesting characters that you meet. However, Ozob is truly a remarkable character. He has become a little legend. Gamers refer to him with great affection as their ‘goat’ or their ‘favorite Brazilian.’ A nice bug is also mentioned by ‘nastyriff’: if you pull the pin on his grenade nose, save the game, and then reload, you can see his model. This community engagement thrives on platforms like PlayStation and Xbox.
