While CD Projekt Red was busy dropping another bombshell, the players of Cyberpunk became mad. Birthday posts for Panam Palmer and Alt Cunningham, arguably two of the culture’s most beloved characters in Night City, prior to the big boom of suspicions, memes, and request for more content!

So what’s the sitch? The developers state August will be a month of celebration for Panam and Alt, the very best of Night City. Panam, the Nomad queen of fire, and Alt, of course, the netrunner from the generation Y. And if you ever bothered to know Cyberpunk fans, they riot, not just celebrate.

The tweet set the tone: “From dust storms to datastreams… This is your reminder that two Cyberpunk 2077 legends, Panam Palmer 🔥 and Alt Cunningham 💾, are leveling up this August! 🎂 They wouldn’t ask for a party — so throw them a creative riot instead when their birthday posts go live! 💥”

The reply section flooded immediately with birthday greetings and requests for in-game events. @MEGRIMLOC straight-up asked if this meant an actual in-game celebration, while @GrimHopeful gushed, “i really liked Panam she was by far my favorite!” Meanwhile, @fuck_tyrants deemed Update 2.3 “garbage” and asked for a New Game+ instead of birthday fluff.

Oh, but really, the whole Panam stan thing is a different dimension. @3jondavid simply declared, “I need Panam bruh.” Meanwhile, @You_Love_Ernest declared Panam’s birthday is only 8 days before theirs, calling it fate. @The_Owl_Bard commented, “Oh wow! I have more in common with Panam then I realized! My birthday is a week before hers!”

Alt Cunningham, the queen of inscrutable netrunning, also got some love, engraving her name and their own on the same birthday with @welshryan2025. There were also complaints from @Blackma64728295 begging CDPR for a romance option for Claire. (Sorry, choom, maybe next patch.)

In the meantime, as far as @PartonMarkus was concerned: no parties, only patch notes and fixes: “Can we please just get a patch to fix the bugs and crashes added in the update. I just wanna play the game I bought man…” Fair.

Now, the real question: What should we expect? An in-game event? Some lore drops? Or just some legit cool posts? Considering the volume and madness coming from the fandom, anything less than a full-on Night City rave would just be a disappointment.

Oh, and it would be worth remembering this very game has been slowly but steadily winning back players after the somber launch. Everyone’s still thinking about the Phantom Liberty DLC, so anything new—birthday fluff included—is good enough reason to get the hype train moving.

So, jot it down, choombas. August’s on its way, and these gals, most loved and most feared, are gonna steal the spotlight in quite a big way. Whether that entails new gigs, easter eggs, or quality fanart is still a mystery. But on this one, I think all of us can agree: Cyberpunk 2077 community won’t be going quietly.

And with that, if you excuse us, we’re going to 10th-time replay Panam’s story. You just never know.
