Mortal Kombat 11 has been a huge success for the developers at NetherRealm Studios. It has sold exceptionally well on all major systems, which can be attributed to many things. It has a compelling story, a maniacal villain, epic fatalities, and an amazing cast of characters.
It also helps that this game consistently receives DLC characters. They give fans even more content to look forward to. So far, MK 11 has received Shang Tsung. He’s an iconic villain featured in the movies and comic books, so it was only right that NetherRealm Studios would include him. He’s received a lot of positive praise thanks to his ability to transform into so many iconic ninjas, including Rain and Ermac.
With his addition, many have wondered what’s next for the DLC character updates. There have been leaks pretty much confirming Sindel and Spawn, which would be incredible to see in this 11th installment. We also know that Nightwolf is coming sometime here pretty shortly, although we don’t have any concrete dates just yet.
What we do have is a first glimpse of his character model thanks to the creator Ed Boon. He took to Twitter earlier this week to give fans a sneak peek of what’s in store for Nightwolf fans. It’s a short little clip that lasts 9 seconds.
In that time, we see his full character model. Right off the bat, he looks good. He’s sporting some sort of animal hide attire, which is pretty customary for his character both in movies and the comic books. His main weapons, the tomahawks, look as menacing as ever.
He holds one up in the air and it’s greeted with a lightening bolt. It’s reminiscent of the thunder god Thor. Nightwolf also has red war paint on his upper torso and face. It’s a great visual that gives him a menacing look.
That’s pretty much all we have to go off of at this point. It’s not a lot, but it does give us a sense of the stylistic direction they’re going in with this character. Nightwolf has always been one of the most popular good guys in the MK universe, so it’s great to see him return.
It’s DLC updates like this that make MK 11 amazing in terms of its re-playability. There are always new characters to master and fatalities to check out. Hopefully, Nightwolf makes his official appearance here pretty shortly and comes with some cool moves.
