Chun-Li and Cammy returned to Fortnite. And yes, you heard just right: after almost three years, these iconic Street Fighter characters have made yet another grand return into the Item Shop. And well, the Fortnite community has been going crazy.
Let me say this first: why do these skins matter? Because, to start with, these names hold legendary status. The Lightning Kick Queen herself and her partner in crime, Cammy, a British special forces operative with a killer aesthetic, were the most sought-after crossover skins during their initial release. And now? They are back for the taking!
Then, @ShiinaBR-a man considered practically the GOAT of Fortnite news-broke the internet with the announcement. Links to both skins were dropped, making the players buzz with hype, memes, and desperate pleas for someone to gift them these skins-that is, if anyone wasn’t sitting on a pile of V-Bucks already.
Speaking of which, the replies were chef’s kiss. While some players were just glad to finally complete their Street Fighter collection, one user, @Southtigerfan, said, “After all these years, finally I have them all in one fell swoop. I am now broke.” Mood. Absolute mood.
Then started those inevitable, “But what about [other crossover skin here]?” comments. @PhenomenalDrift came in with, “Now I want Resident Evil skins back.” Fair. @yourAverageTop appears to still be out here waiting for Jinx too, apparently. Epic, take notes.
Now, some folks, for lack of a better word, did disagree. Some purist OGs tried to have it the other way by saying these bypasses skin dropped in Chapter 2, so they really aren’t OG skins. @BN_OTAKU ran on a whole tirade about it, but honestly? Meh. Skins are skins if they look cool, cool.
Please pass this on to the real ones-who had bought these skins from the last time. @VideogameFan1 dropped the flex, “And I already bought all of the SF skins the first time, so there was nothing left for me to buy today.” Okay, okay, we get it, sir. You are a legend.
But really, with this hype surrounding these skins: why now? Epic has recently been riding the nostalgia wave by bringing forth tons of favorite oldies back while teasing some pretty crazy just-around-the-corner collabs. Is this the potion that indicates more classic skins? Maybe Resident Evil? Maybe even Jinx? (Please, Epic. Please.)
Oh, and shoutout to @grok for providing us with the most detailed reply ever on how to play Fortnite on PS5 or still do for that matter whilst explaining the Ballistic v36.10 patch. They nearly wrote us an entire dissertation.
Win story is wrapped. And with Chun-Li and Cammy back in business, people are happily (mostly) cementing the title of crossovers King for this game. Excuse me; I need to burn my last V-Bucks before self-control kicks in.
So yeah, if you missed out on them the first time around, here is the second chance. Either go ahead and catch them before they’re gone for another three years or don’t; wallet’s on you.
