The shiny new Pokémon is an additional factor why many gamers will go out and hunt. The yearly Lunar New Year special has come back in Pokémon Go. Starting today up to February 13, particular Pokémon types will frequently appear in the wild. Niantic offers gamers an extra XP to catch evolving monsters.

During the event, gamers will have a more enjoyable time hunting for Buneary, Spoink, Ponyta, Mankey, Ekans, and Rattata. They are the Pokemons that are related to the Chinese zodiac. In commemoration of the year of the pig, gamers will have a chance to capture the Shiny Spoink.

Gamers can double their XP every time they evolve or capture a Pokémon. Also, monsters can be swapped during the activity, and there’s a high chance of them becoming a Lucky Pokémon. It demands lesser stardust when compared to a standard Pokémon when powering up. Differentiating a Lucky Pokémon through its bright backgrounds is easy.

Even if the Lucky Pokémon is mentioned in the patch notes, it’s not primarily available when the update was announced. However, the developer twitted that the feature’s now live both on Android and iOS gadgets.

The Lucky monsters are unique Pokémon types that gamers can get via trades. Niantic stated that gamers could turn the Pokémon that they’ll get from other players into lucky monsters. The Lucky Pokémon is special because it doesn’t need a lot of Stardust to evolve. It’s an important trait because it’s easy for gamers to increase the combat power of their Pokémon.

Not every monster that a gamer will receive or send via trade will transform into a Lucky Pokémon. But some have a higher percentage than others in turning into a lucky monster. Niantic has stated that the longer a gamer owns a Pokémon in his storage, the higher the chance that it will turn into a Lucky monster when swapped.

As an addition to the event, gamers will be gifted with an XP if they’ll send gifts to their pals. And those gifts could contain Stardust.

After the conclusion of the Lunar New Year, Niantic will be the host for the next community day of Pokémon Go. The event will be on February 16, 2019, and it will feature its Pokémon: The Ice/Ground-type Swinub. The stardust that the gamers will receive during the community day will be tripled.

Recently, Niantic has announced a new group of Gen 4 Pokémon monsters, which includes Gallade, Froslass, Tangrowth, and Lickilicky.
