After a bit of a delay, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone’s fourth season is now live, and this season’s patch is pretty significant.

For Warzone, Infinity Ward added mid-match events that can have a significant impact on the game’s pacing. On top of that, the in-game events can give players a new path to victory, or they can help start a players’ downfall. Also, it’s worth noting that these events, which will be detailed below, don’t happen in each match.

  • Fire Sale: An event that can discount items at buy stations by up to 80%. There are also times where this event will make items completely free at buy stations, and during this time, it’s free to buy back fallen teammates. Unfortunately, the only thing that isn’t discounted during this event is loadout drops. Also, the Fire Sale only lasts 60 seconds.
  • Supply Chopper: A non-lethal chopper carrying useful supplies. Being that it’s non-lethal, it won’t shoot back at you, but trying to shoot it down might give away your position.
  • Jailbreak: Each eliminated player will be allowed to return to the game, regardless if they’re in the Gular or if they’re just spectating. Active players will get a one-minute warning before this event happens, which will give them the chance to find some good gear for their returning teammates.

Also, Activision revealed a new contract system in their patch notes, which is detailed below.

“Contraband is a new, rare contract with a permanent Blueprint Reward. Contraband contracts have a chance to spawn after a previous contract is completed. If you see the Contraband briefcase, hurry up and collect it. Once you have it, take it to the designated Helicopter Extraction location to call in the helicopter. The player carrying the briefcase must deposit it into the helicopter drop-bag to complete the mission. If you kill a player carrying this briefcase you can steal it complete the contract for your team. Be on the lookout for them on your Tac Map!”

Three new maps (Zhokov Scrapyard, Barakett Promenade, and Trench) and three new modes (Team Defender, One in the Chamber, All or Nothing) were added to Modern Warfare’s multiplayer in the season four update.

Also, a new operator was added to Warzone’s Battle Pass (Captain Price), as well as two free weapons (Fennec SMG
CR-56 and AMAX assault rifle.)
