The suspense has come to an end. To clarify, the suspense for tomorrow has been lifted. Indeed, Call of Duty has made it known that the pre-download of Black Ops 7 is taking place right this moment for the ones who have pre-ordered, while complete game access is being granted tomorrow. Isn’t it just going to be a huge party, or what?? The largest franchise of shooter games releasing its new installment, and the servers all set for a great number of players’ arrival… but still, one of the most controversial issues, if not secluded from completely opposite opinions, is that of the customers’ reaction to the announcement made via tweet which, however, is still so messy.
The Call of Duty Twitter account had a very short and straight-forward countdown message which was, probably, the same reaction as that of the community, which was the pre-order link, and so, that was not the mood of the developers). It is like they are going through a digital civil war in the comments. The players like Roven OP are on the developers’ side and they are very loudly proclaiming their positive feelings e.g. by saying “Can’t believe it’s almost here! Tomorrow’s gonna be absolute chaos 😤🔥” which is exactly what you would expect. However, just underneath that comes FreeScotland who quite bluntly is telling that “This has to be up there with infinity warfare worst call of duty game to date I’m done” and you are like… uh oh. The whiplash is real.
This is only the beginning. The developer is not only going to have to face a hard reception on the official launch day, but it is just insane. Many players are already making complaints about the campaign?? Alejandro Delgado called it very impolitely ‘garbage 💩’ and added that ‘5 years developmental….Is a joke’ which can be seen as totally brutal considering that the person most likely hasn’t even played the entire campaign yet. As for HiMyNameIsJC_, he was ranting about game assets reuse and asking ‘WHY ARE THERE RARITIES IN CAMPAIGN???’ while unambiguously stating ‘Not everything has to be WARZONE.’ The remarks from some early access personnel or content creators are somewhat divided and it seems they were granted access.
Let’s now move on to timing aspect of the issue. QuickZooms very wisely pointed out the classic frustration of the time zones saying ‘Cant wait for everyone to have played for several hours before I even get to boot it up in my actual region!’ which is indeed a very annoying aspect of global releases. JuanitoYTS, on the other hand, was just demanding ‘Open the game to everyone now, not tomorrow.’ as if the developers were going to hear his tweet and then just turn the switch. The impatience is so nearly tangible.
But wait, what was I saying—oh yeah, the whole battlefield 6 of it all. The conflict escalated as a side drama where players were arguing about Battlefield 6 vs. Black Ops 7 was going on simultaneously. The Caveman literally stated ‘Nah, I’d rather play Battlefield 6, a REAL MAN’S game’ and stonesandsnakes bolstered the claim ‘BF6 is gonna outsell BO7’ that slowly began to acquire the energy of real console wars. But then Ben replied ‘No we aren’t 💀 only people 40+ years old are on their 65” TV with no headsets are’ which is such an accurate and cruel burn. The split in the FPS community is at its most visible when two major titles are released simultaneously.
The fear of cheating, as expected, is on the list of the biggest fears for players. ColdWarGamer3 mocked the anti-cheat system with the words ‘PrOtEcTeD bY aNtIcHeAt YoU sAy 🤣🤣🤣’ while Xme4ux firmly stated ‘Not paying £70 to get hacked on’ which is quite reasonable due to Call of Duty’s history with hackers… very fair concern, to be honest. Also, SenseiYoda101 brutally cut it with ‘Fix the lag you con artist’ which is of course… difficult to take.
There were also strange comments from the meta-dimension about the creators of the content. DarrenApels made an observation that ‘I love how all of the call of duty youtube content dorks 💩 on call on duty while playing battlefield 6 Today all of them are back playing call of duty black ops 7’ which is probably true – if you want to ride the view train, you must be ready to chase along wherever they go.
What is most astonishing is that so many people claim to have already conquered the game?? GNGWarzone typed ‘Completed it mate’ while DrSavage even claimed ‘Already there! In tomorrow!’ posting what seems to be gameplay footage. Thus, the alternatives are either to have some early access on PlayStation or wait for the official release on Xbox.
