You’ve probably been browsing Twitter and seen the word “bonkers” pop up. Just now I found a Breath of the Wild player posting a clip that could be the most insane combat clip Nintendo’s open-world has ever seen and people are going absolutely bonkers over it.
The clip shows Link absolutely crushing a Bokoblin. Link then goes on to shred an unsuspecting enemy with a barrage of attacks, assembly aerial combos, and ramping attacks, all while flaunting perfect dodges, weapon switches, Demon Slayer anime-style weapon swaps, and flame-style weapon swaps. This is an advanced iteration of skill, and perfection, from u/Plastic_Jelly_1800 on Reddit. I honestly wish this level of mastery could be studied under a microscope because it is beyond this world.
The clip’s comments are… gold. Philosophy Meme comments, “This is not making history. This is history,” which like “Satan Slayer” was an absolute mood. Another user named Stas chuckled, “Link really said this isn’t Zelda anymore, it’s Demon Slayer,” and after a bit of thinking, I realized he’s right. The move has anime energy so much so that XtremeWallss demanded “Someone give him an opening theme already,” and you know what? They’re right.
Here’s the even wilder part—multiple folks in the comment section were asking “What game is this?” which, like, how the hell do you not recognize Breath of the Wild?? It’s ONE of the most iconic games of the last decade. Grok had to step in and explain to someone, “That’s The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Impressive combo!” which, like, thank you Grok for doing the lord’s work.
The most funny though is the shock some are expressing that anyone would still be playing Breath of the Wild in 2025. Aryan Gupta comments, “Bro’s still out here treating it like it’s the only game that exists” followed up with, “Is this guy really playing Breath of the Wild in 2025?” Like, hello? This game is literally timeless! It launched in 2017, and players are still finding ways to break the combat system. EgoMamba stated, “This game is almost 10 years old and people are still doing insane stuff like this,” which is an indication of how deep the mechanics really are.
The funniest take might be from Shauvik Kumar recovering from the shock, who admitted, “My BOTW combat style is more ‘panic, drop weapon, accidentally throw bomb at self’ than anime protagonist.” RELATABLE. So freaking relatable. Most of us are over here struggling to remember how to parry while this legend is out here creating his own cinematic universe as XGinsu put it.
Some of the comments attest to pure confusion. BigDaddyGMNG asked, “Woah this game has great graphics. Is this game F2P?” Honey… no. Just no. I mean, clearly, Breath of the Wild is a full-price Nintendo masterpiece, but honestly the question is kinda adorable. On the other hand, 0xKristien was wondering, “What happened to the usual health bar?” because the combo was so smooth the enemy barely had time to show damage numbers.
What’s really cool is that the clip is motivating people either to play the game or to give it another chance. 0xghost remarked, “The game is dope, should try it out soon,” and IceKnightK commented, “One of the best Nintendo games ever,” which is absolutely true and factually correct.
The timing is a little funny since Tears of the Kingdom is already out, but people are still going back to the original game to find new limits to break. It’s like how people still speedrun Super Mario 64 decades later — true classics never really die. They just keep fueling our amazement.
The creativity?? Pro6lema joked, “me destroying my ex’s hopes and dreams with the same level of precision hahahah 💜” which, while slightly concerning, amuses me greatly. At the same time, Ms_cafoo said, “This is why Link doesn’t need a tutorial…” which, after looking at this clip, tutorial? What tutorial? This player apparently skipped the Great Plateau and became the Hyrule equivalent of an anime final boss instead.
It’s crazy to think that, after all these years, Breath of the Wild is still generating this much hype. The clip has everything — incredible skill, style points for days, and that Nintendo magic that keeps us coming back. Whether you’re a seasoned player who’s beaten the game multiple times or a never picked up a controller, this combo is just… chef’s kiss.
The most impressive thing might be that the player is able to erase the steep learning curve and show us the end goal. How crazy is it that you need years of practice and dedication to even come close to landing something and he’s just casually doing it as if he is scrolling on his phone? Flamma commented “What a combo. I’m trying to hit that same move tho” and same dude. Same.
Now look at the lovely rhythm that the clip has captivates everyone. It’s mesmerizing. Breath of the Wild is nearing a decade since its release and it still serves as a reminder of why this game is one of the finest games ever created.
Okay, I have to stop now because I have to go fail at trying to recreate this combo.
