With Treyarch dropping a bombshell recently, promoting that the Black Ops 6 Zombies final act, “Fear the Reckoning,” would be available on August 7, reactions were… mixed. I mean extremely mixed. A majority were overwhelmed by excitement, while some were just throwing shades, leaving a few to enjoy the ensuing anarchy from the sidelines. Classic CoD community, right?
There was a first tweet, small and sweet, announcing the big news: “Fear the Reckoning. The finale of #BlackOps6 Zombies arrives August 7.” No sort of marketing minutiae – it was a simple barrage of the truth. There must have been an eruption in the replies section in a matter of seconds.
Among those thusly hyped is Stallion Duck(!), who says, “It’s gonna be fire.” Then there’s Rapid from TheRapidShow pleading for said trailer in all caps with a flood of emojis. And we cannot forget codNfZ saying, “IM FEARING MY RECKONING SO HARD RN.” Like, same, dude. Same.
Yet the news isn’t well received everywhere. Some players are calling it lazy instead. With sarcasm in his voice, Streaks says, “Oh nice the same fucking map with no changes to gameplay it’s lit.” Then we have Ronald, accusing Treyarch of using AI to generate their announcement: “98% AI generated in an AI detector. They can’t even be bothered to do the smallest things.” Harsh? Maybe. But hey, gamers don’t hold back.
Oh another almost that sneaky “Battlefield versus Call of Duty” argument making its way in these threads again. Sebensui grueso gonz went full emoji mode with “trash 💩💩💩🖕🖕🖕 Battlefield 💪💪💪.” Like, okay, we get it, you prefer Battlefield. But why you gotta bring that energy here?
Things weren’t calming around there! Paid DLC erupted into a heated debate with cursed bayle arguing only paid DLC were worthy of paying for-the final Moon pack and the original Wang maps-while Leonidas shot back: ”If paid content can only = good content, then there would be no such thing as a bad CoD or a bad DLC and yet…” Boom!
Oh, and Grefg casually requested Treyarch to reschedule “Cambiad fecha por fa me voy de vacaciones (esta semana mejor),” translate as: Please change the date, I’m going on vacation this week. A bold move by Grefg, very bold indeed.
In this sea of chaos, enlightening moments emerged indeed wholesome. Wetdragonfly pleaded, “Oh I am scared. Please don’t kill my beloveds.” Like, same, Wetdragonfly. Same. Then there was Milo (aka MrRoflWaffles) who just said “Me too bro,” in response to someone’s hype. Simple. Relatable. Perfect.
What’s in store? Black Ops 6 Zombies is officially ending August 7, and the community is… well, the community, some excited, some skeptical, some just memeing away. Will “Fear the Reckoning” live up to its hype? Only time will tell. But one thing is for sure: these reactions will be absolutely off the charts.
And hey, for all the skeptics, try giving it a go; Giotgray does present a solid point: “Every update is free on top of that! Experience it all, the campaign & zombies & multiplayer, don’t limit yourself!” That’s fair. But if you still ain’t feeling it, well… there’s always Battlefield, I guess.
At any rate, mark your calendar for the 7th of August; whether you’re fearing the reckoning or just here for the ride, this is going to be one heck of a finale.
