Battlefield has launched its battle royale mode and streamer TimTheTatman has already made it to the top with a literally first game-first win kind of way. The person put up a video with the caption “1 GAME 1 WIN @BATTLEFIELD” and honestly, the gaming community cannot get enough of it.

If you happen to be one of those who have lost track of the situation, the new BF battle royale mode has just opened the gates to raging gamers and is already taking hype to new higher levels. The early wins of TimTheTatman have turned users into a mix of emotions – are they hyped though? Confused? All of them, basically? The tweets are showing the whole range of reactions from pure excitement to serious doubt among the gamers.

OutPost376GS was one of the first people to entusiasmically shout “Let’s GOOOO Boys !!!!” and indeed their reaction was all the truth about the energy. On the contrary, Tip In Bets was monitoring the game very closely and he brought up something really worth considering – “Game looks mad fun. But the pace of play reminds me too much of Warzone 2.0. Anyone else have those vibes?” And you know what? That’s a pretty logical point. With a new BR on the market, people’s first thoughts are usually the comparisons to the predecessors.

So, the comparisons do not end here. BuhzedL1ghtyear was very quick with his comment, “You mean the pace of play of what an actual BR feels like?” And… I can completely understand the point. However, there is Skep who simply states, “Shouldn’t be hard BF players are ass,” and that is just brutal, man. So brutal.

The entire Arc Raiders vs. Battlefield debate became even more heated when botzz28 said, “Battlefield thinks they are clever with the battle royal release right before arc raiders like, laughing my ass off. It won’t work, man. There is no creativity left.” But then, the mighty pimpezzee stepped in with a very persuasive point – “Man, no one is doing Arc Raiders like that. It is really whack for real. I mean, there is literally nothing in the game. I have only seen two machines that are supposed to fight a freaking spider and a flying Droid, wtf.” So like… maybe Battlefield’s timing is actually perfect?

However, the most fascinating aspect is the whole BR issue that has split the Battlefield community into two camps. nano_71333 minced no words when he said, “I hope the battle royal does poorly so they can put more focus on the multiplayer,” which… wow that must hurt. On the other hand, there is KIR_bigg50 saying “Looks fun as hell” and GreatStoryCorey praising “The squad is locked in!” Therefore, it can be said that the community has been divided into two equal parts.

The loadout problem also received some attention, with MrHanky423 asking, “Do you start with a loadout or is it like most BRs where you run around like a retard looking for a weapon at the start?” which actually is a very critical question because the early game looting can either make or break the warafire experience.

And then there is the TTK topic – IlyaDangle stated “The ttk is ridiculously high” which can be seen as a positive or negative depending on the player’s style of play. Having a high TTK means more time for reaction but it also means you need to hit more shots to get a kill. It is a fine line that games like Apex Legends have walked perfectly but others have found it hard to maintain.

What’s more, it’s very revealing how already a lot of people comparing it to Warzone, just like Garne26077Lloyd did when he said, “Call of Booty butt butt is dead! I am so happy! Finally, something better to play than stupid warzone” which is… harsh but when you think about it that’s just gaming Twitter being gaming Twitter.

The release timing is a big thing too. Web3Alex_ wrote “Real season is coming in” which suggests that this may be part of a bigger content rollout for Battlefield. And with streamers such as TimTheTatman already winning and posting clips the visibility is huge right from the start.

But here is the catch – early success does not necessarily mean long-term viability. Do you remember how excited everybody was for some of those other BR games that ultimately went bust? The real test will be how this mode’s survival during the weeks and months after the initial hype. Will the players still be around? Will the developers offer support through updates? Will the mode carve out an identity that is distinct from Warzone and other BR giants?

Nevertheless, the battle royale space is certainly more crowded now. And with the big names streaming it and winning, Battlefield’s new mode has had a pretty
