One hit or a hundred for a gaming world: the leaked Battlefield Battle Royale gameplay; and honestly? The thing did look sloppy, just as expected. Thanks to CharlieINTEL, this footage is going viral on Twitter as it shows an entire BR mode in the Battlefield world, complete with tanks. There’s no wondering why, right?
Just by watching, it looks like players are parachuting over to the immense map with boats cruising on the surface being technically critiqued by some already on water visuals. A simple, “water looks like crap,” was stated by one user, but that is fair. But the hotter topic is a tank slowly rolling in what seems like to be the final circle. Gamers got divided quickly; some think it’s such a cool feature that adds to the Battlefield identity while others are already whining about the balancing.
These types of events are littered with thematic reactions from the community. Some are excited about it; some are dubious at best, whereas a few are just tired of the whole trend. “Not every fucking game needs BR,” one user stated. Honestly? The mood. However, the debate gets bigger: do vehicles have any place in a battle royale mode-new, especially an overpowered one such as a tank?
Players have begun looking at ways it could make sense without going straight broken. One suggestion was popping an EMP in the last circles to disable vehicles so it’s not “you first get the tank wins,” while the other argued that tanks “add a level of chaos & strategy” which is very much on-brand for Battlefield. Then came the response: “Worst part about BF is how uncounterable the vehicles are. Would be a mistake to put them in BR.”
Then of course… Warzone comparisons start. They will compare everything to Call of Duty, you know. One reply even said it’s not Warzone Solos,” which is excellent in reminding you that you’re talking about different games with different feels. But still, the actual possibility of gaining vehicles in the late game starts to eat away at fun versus fair argument.
That said—what was I saying? Oh, right! The leaks. The footage is short but shows a player walking through what sounds like a coastal area, some buildings in the distance, and that infamous tank slowly rolling by. The movement looks… Battlefield. It’s nothing very slick or arcade-like; it’s got the weightiness of the series. Some complaints about speed have already started; some guy joked that they “run faster than this doll on one foot.”
Now, beyond tanks and water graphics: is this what some Battlefield players want? The franchise has always been about large-scale warfare-oriented with vehicles, so a BR mode feels like the natural expansion. Implementing it in a way that feels balanced and fun are where the real issues lie.
There’s no confirmation that the leak spells out release dates, or even an official announcement would come out of it. Still, it surely means this is in development. Judging from the reactions rather, EA & DICE need to tread lightly. Battlefield fans can get really…well, “passionate,” and this battle royale mode with vehicles is certainly going to require some serious tweaking before it can come around.
So yeah, this means Battlefield BR is real. It’s about tanks and boats…it’s about chaos. If it’s all good chaos will depend on how many times you get fun playing by getting wiped out by one off those three tanks up there. Classic Battlefield move for you. We are mostly waiting for more official details, but damn, those talks have already begun and aren’t going to get any smaller.
