Okay: Battlefield 6 is going to be officially revealed on July 24. Yes, the next installment into the long-running first-person shooter franchise finally gets to step into the limelight; after all, EA intends to produce a trailer to that effect. However, if you were of the mind that the gaming community will simply sit back and applaud, let me get this straight: the reactions are a cacophony of madness and mixture-giddy hype, skepticism, and the all-too-painful recollection of Battlefield 2042’s awful launch.
A short and sweet tweet with the reveal trailer date: July 24, the only piece of information they would reveal. No fluff, no cryptic teaser, just date and link. Classic EA. But trailers were glanced at by a scathing community, as players jumped on the bandwagon. And honestly, can we blame them? After the mess that was Battlefield 2042, trust is somewhere between “I am cautiously optimistic,” and “I’ll believe it when I see it.”
Another top reply is from Brian Scorcher, throwing in the cold welfare: “Remember people. If you want this game to release in a good state MAKE the devs work for it. Don´t pay them before they deliver, don´t be fooled by deluxe editions. Don´t preorder!” And honestly, he’s not wrong. Preorder culture has burned gamers way too many times, and Battlefield’s recent track record isn’t exactly inspiring confidence.
Then there is Fabe, who sets the bar with the lowest standard possible: “Squads, VOIP – standard BF shit. If this doesn´t have that then F***ing hell lol.” It is sad that this is the only thing that is demanded; now, here we go. Meanwhile, Maxis begs for “NO GOOFY/CARTOON/ANIME SKINS JUST REALISTIC SOLDIER SKINS,” which… yeah, after the clowny cosmetics of 2042, that’s a fair demand.
It’s not all gloom and doom. Some players are genuinely hopeful, like Anderson, who tweeted in Portuguese (translated for you): “Let it be a great game. I can´t take COD´s crap anymore.” Mood, honestly. Then KennyBoi95 places his bets on Vince Zampella: “He´s never made a bad game.” True, but also… EA´s involved, so maybe don´t jinx it?
And “Bad Company 2 was peak” has to come out before any sort of Battlefield chat can even happen. Phoenix chimed in: “Hands down. Bad Company 2 a close second,” to an audience full of agreement in the replies. Nostalgia is a powerful drug, and DICE knows it.
Let’s finally address the elephant in the room; Battlefield 2042. That game was… rough. Buggy launch, missing features, and the general feeling of EA rushing it out the door. So when players see “Battlefield 6,” those aren’t just words of excitement-they carry wariness. Yeah, BoomPlatang put it perfectly: “I´ve never been so hopeful yet so cynical over a company.” Same, dude. Same.
With that said, the trailer itself is the casino floor: all bets on hype if it’s good; another riot if it’s bad. And knowing EA, well, anyone could put their money on one of the two.
So, folks, mark your calendars for July 24. This reveal is coming, and whether you´re a die-hard Battlefield fan or in it for the drama, it is showtime. Just… maybe don´t preorder, okay? Wait for the reviews. Trust us on this one.
And hey, if nothing else, at least it’s not a Call of Duty. Right? Right.
(Wait, what was I saying again? Oh yeah-July 24. Be there.)
