Okay, so BAFTA has this huge game concert positioned for January 2026 at the Royal Festival Hall, you see? And there was this announcement saying Tomb Raider music would be performed along with music from Baldur’s Gate, Cuphead, Assassin’s Creed, and Hitman. Would you not agree that sounds hugely awesome?? But really, the boys are much more into what the Tomb Raider community is going crazy about in response.
Basically, the official Tomb Raider account made a post about the event, and then the players started the crazy connecting of dots that probably don’t even exist. The gig is being advertised, and half the comments are people pleading for remasters for the Legend-Anniversary-Underworld trilogy, commonly called LAU by the fans. So insane that a single tweet about an orchestra night could generate so much remaster hype.
User @joetoooown pretty much said “LAU remasters incoming π”, and honestly? That vibe is becoming viral. @ixdanilo shared a gif of someone desperately praying captioned “REMASTER LAU”. And @AdaWpng followed with “Remaster LAU pls” along with a slick picture of Lara Croft. It’s like a coordinated campaignβthe catch is that everyone is just typing this from their beds at home–
There’s also @wawa_cwoft, who went on to tweet, “Perfect way to celebrate TR7-9 Remastered!! πππ”; which… okay, first of all, numbering is a whole debate by itself. Later on, @JohnDoe1432859 popped in with a correcting thread explaining how “Anniversary is not TR8 It’s referred to in the game files as TRAE, Underworld referred to as TR8.” I’ve gotta say gamers really went out there with spreadsheets and file directories. I can’t
Beyond that begging for remasters, there was hype over the music. @Mandy_R0cks gave recognition to Troels Brun Folmann, the guy behind the LAU soundtracks, for finally getting “the love for his goated LAU soundtrack π”. @babylontropez threw out a bit of the soothing Legend theme and called it, “soothing omg, like it brings me back to childhood when everything was so simple and new ahhh β€β€β€”. That’s exactly what I think.
A bunch of the players want some broadcast or streaming for the concert, like @rainbow_geisha, who stated, “Hope this is televised!”. ‘Cause it’s not like everyone can catch a flight straight to London just for a Tuesday evening show, you know? Well, tickets are up for grabs on the link shown in the tweet, but, huh, it’s for 2026. That just seems like forever. Why in the world are we talking about this now?? Okay, what was I saying again?
Ah, yes, the remaster rumors. Lots of comments like, “Does this mean we’re getting LAU remaster?!” and “IGNOW THIS IF SHES COMING TOMORROW” with a photo of Lara. @KubaCodex simply asked, “So LAU Remastered is coming? Pls ππ»πβ€οΈ.” The desperation is palpable. @OperaOfTheLC threatened, “if the remasters happen tmmr you WILL hear me scream from wherever you are π.” Like, “me too” is the understatement of the century.
And those physical releases are sneaking in on the sidelines. @brendanlovesu1 tweeted, “Imagine if we got the LAU soundtracks on streaming and physical vinyls as well,” to which @3arbiw59 replied, “actually there was physical disc with the trl ost in it when it was out”. So now this is a conversation about physical media history, cool cool.
Then, of course, there are gaming-Twitter unrelated offshoots, such as @dragonbornriver asking, “Hey wassamata with you Altair?” which is… a reference to Assassin’s Creed? I think? And @Infectedarrows is begging for Lara Croft outfits in Dead by Daylight and Fortnite. Because why the hell not?
But, it is now defined that the throughline: Tomb Raider players see this concert as a sign. A sign that something bigger is happening. Maybe it’s the remasters. Maybe it’s nothing. But the hope is real, and the comments combine excitement, nostalgia, and pure beastly lust for more classic Lara content.
Oh, and the poster for the event used what seemed to be classic Lara Croft from the Legend era, which @UlimaxFan noted: “Real Lara used in the poster:o.” That only further fueled the fire. @danthedan20 seems to hint, “See you tomorrow at Nintendo Direct?π” because everything’s connected in the gamer brain.
BAFTA is at the forefront putting together an epic show featuring some of the grandest game scores ever. But to Loz’s fans, it’s more than just about the music. It’s what it means. A return to form? A celebration of the past? Or just a cool concert night? Whichever, the hype is real, and the calls for an LAU remaster have never been louder. If you don’t mind excusing me, I need to go back into Tomb Raider Legend on repeat.
