So ASUS ROG has gone overboard with what might just be the last try at Gamescom 2025, quite a pretty opportunity if one was eyeing that Metaphor ReFantazio game. Let’s call it the last-ever giveaway-a giveaway for five lucky winners, presumably the last in history, with vouchers issued for the game via Gamesplanet UK. Nothing much about it-all the entries had to do was Like and comment on the post from ROG-ASUS, with winners announced tomorrow, so next-day winners! But that’s just how some are: fast turns.
The tweet went chaotic in no time. Within minutes, dozens of gamers from all around started feverishly trying to snag the voucher. There were those in the throng saying “thanks for the opportunity,” while some others just had to proclaim with all caps: “I NEED THIS.” One fellow decided to wax poetic about “Gamescom may be ending but the adventure is just beginning,” which was… somewhat over the top; still, it sets the mood.
Lots of “good luck guys” comments popped up, which is something nice to see-a wholesome standard being set by the gaming community. Entering a lame comment from this dude: “I’m not winning lol. I wonder if people actually win such giveaways. Never seen a single person,” and honestly? Same. But we keep trying anyway because what if, right?
Metaphor ReFantazio is obviously going to be one of those big JRPG releases everyone will be speaking about. I think it’s from the Persona team? Or some of the same developers, anyway. So getting a voucher for it through a giveaway is that much more exciting, especially with how expensive games are nowadays.
From everything that I have seen, this ROG Gamescom exhibit has been rather fruitful this go-around. They have been giving away things, introducing new gear, and just generally being everywhere. Aside from which, the voucher drop is their way of going out on a high note.
What makes it interesting is how so many people are just outright begging for it. “I WANT PRETTY PLEASE!!” and “just let me win one time and it will change my life forever” – okay, maybe a little dramatic, but I get the excitement. Gaming giveaways are forever an adrenaline rush.
There was somebody tagging a friend in the reply, which is either in violation of the rules or not? The instruction just said like and comment, so maybe tagging does nothing to help your chances, but who knows? Social media giveaways are at times weird.
The use of hashtag #ROGgamescom2025 is going on, which is… well, good in theory for tracking purposes. Makes it easier to look at all the entries in case you like that kind of thing. Mostly, it’s just one-two punch to get noticed by some crazy algorithm or whatever.
The whole thing just rips right through my Twitter fodder with how desperate people are getting in life trying to get newer games without paying the high price tag. Which, fair enough – games are expensive! Especially big JRPGs like Metaphor that’ll probably give you 100+ hours of gameplay.
Partnering up with Gamesplanet UK for this makes sense for ASUS ROG since they are a digital retailer. Probably easier to distribute vouchers in that manner than physical copies though I do miss physical games sometimes… but that is an entirely different conversation.

Pretty enthusiastic to barely trying and almost the same weight in the random draw. Although I feel the person who wrote the whole poetic thing about adventures beginning deserves some extra point for creativity. Unfortunately, that’s not exactly how giveaways function.
Metaphor ReFantazio looks phenomenal based on what they’ve shown to date. That art style, that gameplay… it’s running a Persona meets traditional fantasy vibe, a combination I never knew existed. I’m pretty sure getting to play that for free would be the climax of my life.
ASUS ROG’s participation at gaming conventions has perennially been considered strong, but this feels especially generous with the giveaway in the current year. Perhaps they want to garner more goodwill from the gaming community? Or, they might just have money to burn on useless marketing. Either way, gamers get the wins.
As of now, the tweet is going on with hundreds of likes and engaging comments, since just a few hours of inception. By the time they close the entries, the engagement would be in the thousands. Five winners from those thousands… yeah, not great odds, but someone has to win!
Going for the chance might be worth it. Worst-case scenario, you lose, and life goes on; best-case, you get a free copy of a game that will probably be $70 at launch. Not-so-bad deal, right? Just a like and a comment.
