Apex Legends is not just a popular title for Electronic Arts because it also holds the record for the most massive free-to-play launch.

There’s new information from Superdata, a market research company. It’s not an official figure, but it came from its point-of-sale and event data, and propriety data partnerships. The research company has gathered information from payment service providers, developers, and publishers.

The company estimates the spending habits of 160 million unique digital gamers around the world. Superdata estimates Apex Legends was able to pull $92 million last February, and the whopping figure made Apex as one of the best grossing titles of the month.

Most of Apex’s profit came from consoles, and not on PC. However, it’s not really enough to surpass Fortnite on both console and PC.

It’s interesting to note that Anthem has been able to surpass Apex. Superdata thinks Anthem has earned over $100 million during its launching in spite of its well-publicized issues.

The figure is enough for Anthem to land the 3rd position on console ranking. However, it’s not quite sufficient to land in PC’s top ten list.

The figures this March might look varied. Anthem has achieved its figures and ratings as a standard premium title. The game’s in-game spending was $3.5 million, and it’s for both platforms.

Apex is a free-to-play title so all its profits should be gained through in-game transactions. The launching of its primary Battle Pass is a little bit underwhelming, but it can get higher figures this month or the next.

It’s not good news for Hearthstone because Superdata states it has suffered a huge profit decline in February, which falls to 52%. Its revenue has lessened probably because of tougher competition and possible franchise fatigue.

Many people believe Apex can top Fortnite on any of the remaining months this year due to good reviews, and because Respawn is dedicated to always tweak the game to make it better.

Respawn is committed to make Apex a crash-free game. It has released a patch recently where there are new tools in the game’s PC version. One of the tools has a crash reporter, which will help Respawn see the reasons why Apex Legends crashed.

It will now be easier for Respawn to fix problems so they won’t happen again. The stability of Apex will continue to improve because of patches such as their recent one. If the developer is dedicated at making a better game, then fans will definitely become more loyal to the game as well.
