I’m huge news for Apex and creators in Latin America, the Apex Legends Creator Hub segment has now been extended in the LATAM regions, giving early access, exclusive playtests, tournament support, developer Q&As, and codes to eligible content creators.

Then what about the Creator Hub? Well, it is Respawn Entertainment‘s system to help those making Apex content-streamers, YouTubers, tournament organizers, so forth. And thank the stars, LATAM content creators can now be a part of the action after two years of waiting going down, as some accounts describe it. The reply to the announcement tweet consisted of arrays of slick graphics saying something like, “Hey LATAM; we are ready for you to join the squad.”

The community response was… well, reaction-wise, pretty much mixed. Really much mixed. A fair number of people wanted to be in. Reasonszn commented, “Pleaseeee get me in this! Will submit application after work,” in all excitement. Tanker156 answered, “I just sign up. Let see πŸ‘οΈπŸ‘οΈ,” suspicious-eye emojis used ironically to convey that they are cool but really excited.

And then another side to that coin is that Chiva outright called them out: “It took you nearly 2 years to open this program for LATAM.” Oof. That is a pretty direct shot. And they were not alone in complaining about the timing.

Then another bit of drama would be the application process. Royall replied, “It would be cool if you’d let me in too, but nah I get denied for things I’ve never done three times πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ,” which… yikes. That’s rough. Other creators rose up for Royall-he responded to the Royall with “Justice for Royall,” which honestly should be trending.

SzeneTK shared his anecdote about a refusal, and it was pretty weird: “Everytime I apply I get rejected for behavior code of conduct πŸ˜… I don’t even know what I’m doing since I only play with friends so I have no random interactions.” They make a good point: “The rejections should have explanations on them. Is it the banter with the team or what?” Like how are you supposed to fix behavior if you don’t even know what you did wrong?

But wait, they’re not alone with the Creator Hub announcement: the good old Apex community is currently taking this opportunity to air ALL their grievances. Like, literally everything. Chullinger3 was complaining about duos being removed: “Revert duos. A change that doesn’t even speed up queue times and just make it miserable to only fight 2 teams…” While Exot1c_FPS issued a plea, “Bring my sentinel back for god sake” with a crying emoji that said so much.

There were server complaints too-Realbabygttv just screamed “Fix console ranked servers !!!!!!!!!!” with so many exclamation marks the kind of energy could power a small city. Ojitos_2001 had a more specific request: “How about putting a fucking server in the regions besides the ones in BrasilπŸ’€” which does sound like a legitimate point, not everyone lives in Brazil, you know?

More than a few people were trying for multiple rounds for admission-LeotheLion25 declared, “Going to apply for a 3rd time ✌️,” with that peace sign that could have been hopeful or slightly threatening; I can’t tell. Apex_Nosferatu went all cute about it, “Just sent my application this morning, I so hope to be accepted >wwww<” with cartoonish emotes that somehow maximized the feelings.

Then the bunch of random questions starts-ittjoh4nn4 asked, “Did you guys already accept Portuguese players in the apex legends creator hub?” which actually is a fairly good point since Portugal isn’t in Latin America but they speak Portuguese like Brazil, so… wait, what was I saying? See, it gets confusing.

That is basically a snapshot of what the Apex community suddenly looks like. On one side, this Creator Hub extension is genuinely good news for LATAM creators that have been pending forever. Early access to content? Dev Q&As? Tournament support? Great things that definitely do go a long way in helping thrust content creator clout.

But then there is SO much else that people have issues about with the game as of now. From servers to weapon balancing to moves on the map (JollySmokeEater talked at length about gondolas having zero loot, and really, yeah, that’s horrible), it seems like every official tweet is becoming an opportunity for the community to air their complaints.

It’s really crazy for such a standalone announcement designed to support creators and yet morph into this very lengthy thread of discussions about probably sentinel sniper bans to server location complaints to battle pack complaints. But that just defines Apex Legends-the community is damn passionate-sometimes to the point of counterproductivity.

Funny how this shoots forth into unveiling the entire situation of live services as it is right now. Developers attempt to extend kind gestures such as creator support, and instead, players are overwhelmed with all the problems that have grown in their mind, so they can’t help but raise all the other things that bother them. Like trying to give somebody a birthday present while their house is on fire-they appreciate the gesture but are kind of distracted with all the burning building situation.

Still a huge win for LATAM creators who’ve been waiting for the occasion. More support, more access, and more opportunities to promote their channels and communities around Apex. Maybe somehow the spirit of Respawn will listen to some of that feedback out there spinning in these replies, or maybe they’ll be too busy maintaining their own worlds while the community continues to be… well, the Apex community.

Now that the Creator Hub extension went live, applications can be submitted, and LATAM creators finally get to attach themselves to the same opportunities that have been allowed to other regions for years. It’s about time, really. Now to watch how many get accepted versus how many get slapped with mysterious behavior codes for rejection.
