Respawn recently released a cryptic tweet teasing Arena mode in Apex Legends, drawing out a spectrum of emotions from the players. The tweet reads: “What will you do when you stand face-to-face against the one opponent who knows all your moves? You alone will decide who is the best. The Arena awaits ⚔️”, inciting hype and frustration, alongside a barrage of demands.
Some people aren’t feeling the Arena hype, straight up. @Valkart69 went off, saying it was “the same bag of shit as it was before it got removed,” stating problems like strikes pack users ruining their matches. A couple others, like @KaptanBizkitz, most pitifully plead to bring back the 3v3, complaining 1v1 is just sweaty contests against Predator level players or a long chase when the opponent runs off at low health. Oof.
But wait, server-lagging is still a thing! “@Kinglegend93 FIX ME SOUTH SERVER,” while @rsbhardwazz whined how Singapore ranked lobbies were “unplayable” at the moment due to DDOS attacks and unjust penalties. Double yikes. Oh, and audio complaints too; @1mschuermann pleaded to “FIX YOUR FREAKING STEP AUDIO INSTEAD OF THIS BS!”
The other side is where people are poetically anticipating some lore drops or character updates. @Xin___Camryn is wondering whether this might be an “Ash rework teaser,” while @jugram__h would just like an “Human Ash skin.” And at the same facade for a lay on skins, @X_oni_v wants to tone it with “Give Lifeline a skin withOUT baggy pants for once please thanks!! ❌❌❌❌❌❌❌❌❌” Priorities indeed!
There is never any Apex tweet without a classic “bring back [insert fan-favorite mode here]” shout-out or two. @LeOslice1 pleads for a return of 3 Strikes, saying, “Stop with all this content clutter… bring 3 strikes back permanently,” while @MorganPierce_RI asks the million-dollar question: “Will we ever see ranked arenas again?”
Now, the… interesting opinions. “@Matt94441834 What will you do when this trash game dies???” took it to another level, meanwhile, @TexasSon1836 claims that devs are catering for esport interests and not “normal fans.” Then there’s @EWRF1234 that claims himself as a day-one player and salutes the OGs that stood behind Apex through thick and thin, though he will miss that Twitch Prime Loba skin because her dog was in the hospital. Aw.
So, then, what have we decided? It would seem that Arena mode is coming back or is receiving some sort of update, but the feeling of the community far ranges from unanimous toward said happening. There are those ready to duel about it, there are those that seek the return of their favorite LTMs, and then those are the ones waiting for the very base fixes. Will Respawn address this chaos? Time shall tell, or better yet, will be another cryptic tweet.
